just walked into the pub at 8.30 for a pint after a full day's work just to be shouted at the door that the pub was closed and to go elsewhere by the staff!
I have seen the pub have a lick of paint but the management have run the place into the ground since Christmas.

place seems to have went absolutely down hill since new management came in
inconsistent food to the point of specifically calling in advance and then getting there and there's no food on at 5.30pm and much worse environment for the staff
me and a group of 5-15 have been going every Sunday for around a decade now and we've had to stop coming and go somewhere else

It used to be a spoons bar , but got taken over by a local company , tbh I can't fault it ,yes its tired and the same same decor from the spoon's days , but it as the saying goes cheaper than chips .
They serve food till 8 pm , but as being a town centre bar, the custom dies of about then.
If you're looking for half decent grub and an extrodaly cheap drinks you can do no wrong by visiting here .
It's wheelchair friendly, well I say that but you need a person to open the door or you can't get in
