Thankyou to Lewis and the other staff today. An unfortunate event was taking place in the entrance/exit. A shop lifter was being restrained on the floor by security as they waited for police.
I had my 6yo son with me at the self serve. A female staff member gave Kobe a chocolate lolly and Lewis walked us out of the store the back way and round to our car, to avoid my son having to witness the event happening at the front door.
Kobe is completely unaware of anything that was happening other than the shouting and because of you I have a very happy little boy rather than a frightened one.

Had a voucher burning a hole in my wife's pocket so had to spend it while we were in Hartlepool. Great choice and variety of products and always top quality in M&S. My wife picked up a new pistachio loaded cookie. I did not get a try! Highly recommend

Only getting a 3 stars due to the shop. The cafe is terrible. Fridge not working, rude staff member and no ingredients to make anything.

Bought chunky Keralan chicken soup what a disappointment must have had only a thimble full amount of chicken in it !!! That is no exaggeration , undercooked vegetables esp potatoes !!!

Checked closing time online for Hartlepool said 4.30 arrived at 4.00 wouldn?t let me in said the close at 4 I think you need to update online very poor behaviour wasted journey

M&S are underselling themselves here. This is a busy, cramped shopping area most of the time to just call in, with very tight car parking. Took some clothing back here bought in the next closest M&S (15 miles away) but couldn't return it here as "this is just a food store" the staff said dismissively, although if it had been ordered through the Internet, you could return it? So next time I won't buy at a M&S shop but order through the Internet. Clothing return policy is to suit M&S but not its personal shopper.
