They have a problem with pricing things correctly in this store. Twice I have paid for my items then had to ask for my receipt to find I had been over charged for items with different prices below them. Also, both times I have been served by the same young lass with glasses who on both occasions has had a cheeky, cocky comment when I have mentioned the price. Trying to make me feel uncomfortable when they are at fault. Clearly she needs some training in customer service and how to respect customers. Other members of staff are great, helpful and always talkative.

Twice I hav been in herons over the fens and twice the milk I hav bought has expired and gone sour, still with 3 days left on the date, wonder what other foods go of before the expired date.

Initially was impressed by layout compared to a few years ago. Prices were much cheaper than elsewhere, but many foreign products,( hard to find the English instructions), were a large part of the stock. The quality of products like Spagetti Bolognese or Chilli Con Carne, although cheaper, were a bit bland in taste. However, for someone on a low budget this is the ideal place for food bargains and more for your buck.

Herons have 2 shops, a larger shop in the Middleton Grange shopping centre, and a smaller shop on the Fens.*Both shops offer a wide range at decent prices, both frozen/chilled foods and dry goods.I believe both shops are a subsidiary of the BM group, with shops situated in Middleton Grange and a large store on the Tees Bay retail estate,** free car parking.
