Interesting UK and Turkish owners with fine food. Recommend the fish and chips. Salads are above average. But for a lasting impression ask the waiters to suggest a meat dish with appropriate wine. Sunny weather? Eat outside along River Wear! Sincerely - Bruce & Martha in Seattle

Great for crafty people and there's often a promotion during the holidays, samples of art and craft or a bubble machine can occasionally be found at the door with plenty of discounted books and the usual range of stationary.

Called in for a quick lunch/dinner on Easter Saturday - I?ve been before and this visit was a massive let down - literally 95% of our food was luke warm - couldn?t be bothered to complain at the time should have really! Full rack of ribs looked good but luke warm and pretty tasteless, worst Mac and cheese ever plus cold too! - so disappointed ??

Lovely waitress, poor quality food.Had an apology for the quality but not good enough as should have never been served like it was. We were very rushed.As soon as the food was finished .the plates were literally taken away from us. The main course looked nice but was swimming in gravy & the beef was described on the menu as being pink but was about as pink as my black shoe. Won't be returning.

We visited for a family birthday celebration. We were seated downstairs. The waitress was lovely but, the drinks took ages to come, in fact the starters arrived before some of the drinks. There also was a table of around 8 females. They were very drunk, very noisy and, having been rude to the waitress were being waited on by other staff. We had children present and the language from that was not great. When we mentioned at the end of the meal how unlikely we would be to return we were informed that if they'd known how bad it was they'd have moved us? They'd had to come down to get other staff to serve the table so they were completely aware. Would definitely not recommend for families on a Saturday. Shame as food was good.

Visited today for my brothers birthday! The service was amazing, everyone so friendly and the food was delicious! Will definitely be back soon!

Myself and family booked for four of us at the end of January. Food was lovely but service could have been better. It wasn?t very busy the evening we booked but don?t think it?s any excuse to be pushed out of the door at 10.30.

This was our first time at Rib & Reef, and I have to say I wouldn't go anywhere else now. The food was amazing, our son said it was the best steak he'd ever had (and he's had a few) the drinks were lovely, but by far the service we recieve was second to none (I'm sorry I didn't get the ladys name) Fantastic service, and fantastic value for money, definitely will be going back.

Had the seafood platter in September 2022, it was excellent and we left satisfied and full. Credit where it is due on that occasion we could not fault the service or the food both were exemplary. Not sure what has gone wrong but went this afternoon as a family of 4, ordered two platters £50 each which allegedly serve 4 people. A full pan of the mussels were unopened and returned, granted they were removed from the bill without any fuss but no apology and staff who didn?t seem bothered. The portion sizes were tiny and we left hungry, definitely not worth what we paid.

Lovely vibe in the restaurant. Food was tasty and everyone enjoyed. Drinks were fantastic too, didn?t have to wait till we?d finished our drinks before ordering others from the bottomless menu. Plenty of Prosecco too. Really happy with our visit.

Firstly, I?ve attended this venue numerous times with no issues until tonight, one word to describe the experience - Atrocious. Entered the venue & sat down to my bottomless brunch with my friend, the servers first words were as follows (and I quote)? ?one drink at a time, out on time, no longer at all regardless, if I think you?re drunk I will remove you from the premesis? Now, I actually don?t know how he had the audacity to say the above comments, is it because we are two young females (I say young - IM 30!). One drink at a time - fair enough. ?Out on time, no longer at all regardless? - what if we wanted to stay for more drinks? ?If I think you?re drunk, I?ll remove you from the venue? would he of said that to two grown men? Doubt it. This was the first venue we attended so I have no idea why he ?assumed? we were drunk or would get too drunk? Fantastic customer service ey? With no hi, welcome to rob & reef or nothing. Anyhow.. I bit my tongue and ordered my first drink and food (which was beautiful), drank my drink & sat waiting for 10min, still no service so I go and ask the waiter for more drinks, looks at me, writes the order than walked away (no communication - no nothing) then had to wait a further 10min to get the drink. This happened every time I needed a new drink, he would walk past, look and not take an order? it?s supposed to be a bottomless brunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shouldn?t be waiting 20min for drinks once I?m finished. To summarise; Rubbish customer service/horrendous waiting times/not good value for money when you?re not getting what you paid for. I will absolutely not be back. (Shout out to the lasses who served me for my first bottomless brunch with rib & reef, you guys were a joy! & really made the group feel welcome - top class)

Well what can I say!!! We booked for Christmas brunch and what a fab time we had!!! Service was fantastic, all staff friendly and helpful and food was spot on. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a great day/night xxx

I visited this restaurant with my friends while I was back up from university for the week, I opted for some seafood this time round and I wasnt impressed to say the least, very bland with very little flavour. I did feel a little unwell later on in the evening, maybe it was the prawns I had eaten but who knows? I will probably think twice before coming again unfortunatley.

Absolutely fantastic morning! We all enjoyed very much. All staff was so welcoming and couldn?t do enough. Food was amazing! (Which always is). The full team made it so magical for the kids singing carols, speaking with Santa, taking pictures and receiving a present which was a little teddy wearing a T-shirt stating the child was on the nice list which was a brilliant touch. A mean could they have getting a better Santa? His beard was even real! ? No wonder the bookings sold so quickly.. Thankyou to everyone. We definitely will be returning for other occasions aswell as the lovely food they serve day/night anyway.

We had breakfast with Santa, Micky and Minnie Mouse today and we wanted to say thankyou you so much for everything the owners, management and the full staff team put into today! The kids were absolutely in their element and the magic of it all was just really emotional, I had to swallow my happy tears. It was a fantastic experience for everyone and we hope to do the same next year too.
