“Fantastic shopping experience. Staff are very polite and friendly. The shelf stacking staff was extremely helpful. I've witnessed a cashier patiently listen to a mobility challenged elderly woman and assist her with the best of her ability.”

“Sainsbury's Arnison Centre is a really convenient place to shop just north of Durham City Centre. It has a large car park which is free, and though can be a bit tricky to navigate for pedestrians (I'm a bit biased as my mum got injured as a pedestrian there!), is quite easy to use. It also has free albeit quite limited electric parking.Inside the staff are friendly and helpful, and the store is bright, clean, accessible, and again, it's easy to navigate. It's much quicker to use the scanner or the self service tills though many people still queue.Sainsbury seems to be pushing the product discount if you have a nectar card which I'd prefer not to engage with but you really have to if you don't want to pay a fortune for things - in fact it can seem like the discounted price is actually the 'normal' price these days, but I can't confirm that. There's also an Argos, currency exchange and restaurant upstairs, as well as many other shops nearby - so you really can have a day out there if you want!! If you want somewhere to get your weekly shopping, or just something for lunch, this is a quick and easy place to visit if you are in the local area.”

“I like this sainsbury but tbf I’d give them 5 stars if they had Italian piadinas like the one in Neville’s cross. I have an Italian wife and she always wants piadinas therefore it’d be nice if there were a few. Thanks.”

“It’s a good size Sainsbury’s which seems to sell have a lot more stuff than you can order online. The range is really good and the prices are competitive as you expect it gets pretty busy but it is massive so it’s never really a problem and the busting team are pretty effective, section is quite expensive with a lot of stuff from habitat and there’s also Argos inside. In some cases, you can order stuff on the Argos app and pick it up straight away which is handy.”

“Slightly haotic and without full range of Christmas food just before Christmas but we had a plenty of time to do shopping earlier this year.Good stock, plenty of space, no rush. A lot of staff in the morning doing online shopping but just imagine all this people in the store doing shopping for themselves!Downside is that Caffe servers only take aways.”

“I'm in this store regularly between my weekly shop as it is really convenient. It has a good selection of products for a small store and very long opening times even on Sundays. It's always pleasant; bright, clean and tidy, and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.”

“Popped in a few times whilst staying in Durham recently. Was very impressed with the size of the store, the huge range of goods available, ample parking and the super friendly staff. I'm used to our local stores being small, cramped and only carrying a small amount of stock (plus very limited parking) so it was actually a joy shopping at Newton Hall which I never thought I'd be saying about grocery shopping!”

“Just a common small Tesco, works almost all day long, including Sunday evening. It has very good location at the buss terminal, so it's convenient to make shopping, get a buss and go. The assortment us not wide, but sufficient (not all network propositions and bargains available). The shelves are usually full. The prices are reasonable (avarage as elsewhere in this network). Usually no consultants inside.”
