Quite annoying they won't take an Evri parcel between 10 and 2, how stupid. I had had to go elsewhere. Nothing on the Evri website about this, just a scruffy sign in store and a refusal.

The room was clean & and the facilities were spot on. OK, for a couple of nights stay, although maybe getting a little dated. Plenty of tea, coffee, milk. The room was somewhat too small for a double & 2 single beds as there was no walking space between the double & the 2 singles. Breakfast on Sunday morning wasn't great, but this was in the pub next door. It was totally unorganised. Ran out of pretty much everything & they were slow to replenish. Minnie & Mickey visited the kids & this seemed to have a higher priority than getting people seated, replacing cups, bacon, eggs, pastries, spoons, fruit juice, even the fruit bowl was empty. Monday morning was a lot better organised.

The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff extremely helpful and nothing too much trouble. The only issue we found was the temperature in the room overnight which was so hot. The rooms were supplied with fans, which we were using and there was an option to request thin cotton sheets instead of duvets - but my husband and I weren?t even entertaining the thought of a duvet! We stayed with our ten month old daughter so had our Gro Egg thermometer in the room with us, which was showing 27.6°c for the majority of the night. As comfortable as the bed, pillows and sofa were in the room - neither of us got a decent nights sleep due to the temperature and that was a shame. Unfortunately I feel there?s not a lot the hotel can do about this, as the air units in the room are not made for cooling but just heating - so just something to bear in mind if you?re travelling in the summer months.

I was pleased with my stay. Premier Inn have built their brand by providing consistent VFM but do need to be careful not to be too complacent. I will come to that further down. Car parking was easy and the hotel easy to find. The city centre is about 3 miles away and is an easy walk, pretty much following the route of one main road in, in a nice, safe neighbourhood all the way. Check-in was ok. Staff were pleasant and doing their job BUT I was 30 minutes early and was told it was £10 for an early check-in. Another couple decided to go to the pub opposite, I decided to wait in the lobby. No fault of the staff and my fault for being early, but in my eyes this policy is improving. If the room is ready and people are early then let them have it. Of course, if it isn't ready then they can't, but if it is then why not? This just came over as a way to make extra money from people, but actually it has put me off from using Premier Inn 'The brand' again. My room was spacious, clean and everything worked. Hats off to the housekeeping staff. It was generally quiet, a little outside noise in the daytime, but nothing that distracted me too much as I worked throughout the day in the room. Bed was comfortable and I slept like a log each night of my three night stay. Breakfast at the pub/restaurant adjacent was excellent for taste and quality BUT on the Sunday morning of my stay it was extremely busy and therefore noisy, crowded at the buffet area and I felt rushed. The Monday and Tuesday breakfast times were much more relaxed. The lady who was seating people on the Sunday was extremely professional, efficient and did everything with a smile. A big asset, many wouldn't have coped with it. The biggest negative was the internet speed. Slow, slow, slow. Unless of course you upgraded (for £5 a day) . Come on Premier Inn you can do better than that. Just make that your standard and ditch the one that clearly is not up to the job. So, the plusses - good location, nice room, great staff, tasty food, good sleep Negatives - £10 for 30 minutes early check-in, £5 for decent internet In short, Premier Inn policies are letting down the staff of this hotel and that needs a rethink. You've built the brand, but don't get complacent.

The team here are fantastic and super helpful. The atmosphere here is very welcoming and perfectly situated by a nice community retail park. The bed is incredible. I'd highly reccomend this premier inn for anyone staying in the Durham area for either business or a family getaway. There is a Brewer's Fayre adjascent to the hotel, nice and quiet and the staff in there all just as lovely as the hotel team.

We wanted to explore the Cathedral and the Castle. The Park & Ride was a three minute drive away. The room would have benefitted from air conditioning. Reception kindly replaced the duvet with a sheet, allowing me to have a more comfortable second and third night.

A well located budget hotel that was elevated by a great staff team. Really attentive reception and restaurant staff who gave the impression that they really wanted to make my experience as comfortable as possible

We booked here for the Miners Gala - good location and Arnison shopping centre a 10 min walk away. Saturday breakfast service was awful; lack of plates and food, too many customers and not enough staff. Sunday was much better and the Manager agreed the day before was unusual. Would stay again as not far away from the city centre.

I go for breakfast regular here and it is always a great experience. The food is always spot on and the staff (Fay and Holly) are always brilliant. I couldn?t fault any part of it. I look forward to going back?

Visited last week for two nights. Business trip. Very disappointing on the first morning to spot bugs in the bed clothes. Brought it to the attention of reception. While they remade the bed that day, I chose to sleep on the bed for the second night not in it. Sent a note to Premier Inn customer support but they somehow couldn?t validate the fact that I stayed there (Trust me, I was there..!). Asked them to call me to verify the details further but that wasn?t an option either. So just letting other visitors know my experience through this review.

3 night stay in the Hotel Went to eat there with my brother, his disabled wife and their autistic 8 year old daughter. We were told there would be a 50 minute wait for food. We accepted and were seated. After ordering we were then told up to an hour and a half for food. We were then ignored for 2 hours and 20 minutes, no explanation, update or apology, until the very average food finally arrived. Full price charged, although they did offer a free drink, a pointless empty gesture as we were all drinking free refill soft drinks anyway! When I went to breakfast (pre-paid) next morning I was told that there was no buffet breakfast today, I could order what I wanted but the kitchen was taking a bit longer than usual. Also that the staff couldn't get the coffee machine working so there were sachets of instant and a kettle available. After the previous night's fiasco I gave up and had a McDonalds breakfast instead for the 3 days of my stay. Part of the reason I prefer a Premier Inn is the usually high standard of breakfast, matching the hotels themselves. This part of the stay did not live up to expectations or previous experience of Premier Inns.
