“Stayed for only one night but wipo definitely be longer next time. Lovely friendly place, staff lovely, food exceptional, absolutely gorgeous and all home cooked. Very clean and easy walking distance of lovely city centre. Definitely recommend this place.Food & drinks: Lovely home cooked food and lovely chardonnay.”

“A lovely pub set in Shincliffe village but very limited parking. You often just have to park outside someone's home. Came in a group of 7 for friends' birthdays at 7.30 on a Thursday night and it was really quiet. We were seated in an alcove and had excellent service and meals. The mince and dumplings with mash and veg were fabulous ? and everyone cleared their plates. I couldn't even think about a sweet but a couple managed!! Meals are on pricey side but quality was great and portion size large.”

“Very friendly staff great restaurant next door. The riverside walk just down the road is beautiful . Massive car park and local supermarkets are handy for bits and prices. I will definitely book this hotel when next working in durham”

“Nice central location, 10 mins walk from the old town. Service was excellent and breakfast was great too. The room was clean and spacious with a rain shower.Walkability: Within walking distance of the whole city. 5-10 mins to the old town centre.Food & drinks: Breakfast included continental pastries, full English fry up, fruit, yoghurt, toast, hot drinks and juices. Amazing service.”

“Always know what to expect with a Travelodge. The location is a bit of a walk from the main centre but just a short taxi ride. Lots of rooms and great value for money.”

“Stayed Friday 6th til Monday 9th October visiting family, staff at the hotel were lovely especially Ulia she was very helpful a bit of a mix up with rooms that were booked, rooms were a bit dated but clean we had the full breakfast very nice the meals were priced reasonable, would stay again but would require a mobility adapted room bath too deep for me.”

“Nice hotel in the centre of Durham the rooms were very nice and well furnished and the staff were very friendly! Be aware though that the pool is closed as we discovered upon arrival. The location is fantastic just a 5 mins walk to the city centre shops and cathedral.Walkability: Very close to the city centre”
