popped in for a quick coffee as was a little early for an appointment later that day. coffee was nice and fair priced.
what really hit me soon as I went in was the 'warm atmosphere'. It just felt a very welcoming place without being overbearing. Would love another visit, but would love to bring my tiny rescue dog and not sure if that allowed. anyway, nice place and would recommend it

My new favourite cafe in Darlington - excellent food and drink, the staff are all lovely, fantastic service and a great atmosphere!
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are excellent here - a good variety of vegetarian salads, bagels, sandwiches and cakes

I took early retirement last year, and have spent my time researching all the cafes in Darlington Town centre. After weeks of careful studying I'd narrowed my selection down to just two - and the Vineyard Cafe comes out on top.
I have always found the staff friendly and welcoming, the service has always been spot on, and the food and cakes delicious. It is quite often busy, but that adds to the vibe and atmosphere of The Vineyard Cafe.
I love the fact that profits are put back into the community, and that the staff are all volunteers. I always enjoy my visits, and always look forward to my next one!

A very disappointing first experience of this cafe. Whilst it looks nice, it let itself down by not delivering as it should! Arriving a little after 2pm we were told the only food being served was cake which itself transpired to be just TWO slices of millionaires shortbread (what, when there are numerous bakeries within 200m and much less of the establishment!?), the kitchen staff having knocked off already it transpired! Poor planning, lack of foresight or what(!?), for a market day town cafe not to be anticipating customer demand as is it should is very poor and what cafe gives up serving food beyond 2pm on a potentially busy demand day!? Service was alright but seemed a little stressed and the drinks ordered were average, coffee I'd had better despite the so called 'specialism' of the cafe, the tea alas poured out of the teapot everywhere but least of all the spout, resulting in a soaked table (narrowly avoiding my 20 month old granddaughter!), quite why this was so I really don't understand? The shortbread was average in terms of quality and quantity. Alas I wouldn't normally report such a poor experience had it not been so! Can't really recommend this cafe at all, very disappointing for a first visit and the initial enticing look of the cafe fails to materialise in the expereince delivered, which is most unfortunate and it's very unlikely we'll return as there are far better options in Darlington!

Lovely and cosy place hidden on Darlington. The staff are extremely nice and the atmosphere is beautiful, the food is very delicious and the coffee is amazing. I wish they extended their opening hours. Definitely recommend.
