I changed my style of glasses when I got my new prescription and had an issue with the nose pads hurting me. After visiting the store on my way home a very helpful lady replaced the existing hard pads with silicone ones, I didn't even know silicone ones were an option, and what a difference they made. No more pain or indentations on my nose.

Be careful using this specsavers for safety glasses, they refuse to assist if there's an issue. I was supplied safety glasses that did not have the temple tips appropriately connected and subsequently one went missing. Asking for a replacement was impossible. I was instructed to return them and they would send them off for 3 weeks. Thus leaving me without an adequate safety device when all that I was requesting was a replacement peice of rubber!

Went in at roughly 4:10 this afternoon to have my current pair of glasses fixed and a lovely woman called corrie came to help. She was honestly the most polite person I've met in a customer service setting. I came back 30 seconds after leaving to purchase a new pair of glasses as I was advised by corrie that these ones might not last long and talking to her was like talking to a friend, as someone who struggles with anxiety this made everything so much easier. I truly hope she gets the recognition she deserves as it's hard to find people who are genuinely nice and comforting to talk to

AVOID....I am £35 out of pocket as they would not refund for my eyetest, even though the manager admitted that I would need a re-test as the glasses they supplied (twice) were blurred.Had an eye-test and was told I would need to wear glasses all the time. When I collected the glasses I told them that they were blurred, to which I was told that I would need to get used to them. I had to go back the next day as there was no way that I "would get used to them". I could see long distance brilliantly but when looking at the speedo or even my watch it was totally blurred. I was then offered bi-focals, which I had to pay extra for and the glasses I received the previous day (2 for 1 offer) had to be corrected as they were wonky. I was told they would call me when they were ready as it was a bank holiday weekend and they were busy.Three weeks went by and no phone call. Anyway I collected the new glasses today and I had the same problem....totally blurred with short distance. By this time I had lost all faith and requested a refund. However they would not give me the refund for my eye-test as they had "provided the service". They could not understand that they had not performed the "service" satisfactorily as I would still need to pay for another eye test elsewhere. They said they would re-test my eyes but why wasn't this done then I took the glasses back originally. Why should I be £35 out of pocket??

Darlington High Row store. Disgusting service. Having been emailed to say my appointment is due, I turned up today to be told it's too early for my NHS appointment. I am disabled with mobility issues and had made an effort to attend. The person dealing with me was not helpful (I later found out she was the manager!) - bearing in mind it's Specsavers who were at fault for saying to book my appointment. Also, Specsavers have made a lot of money out of me over the past few tears as due to sepsis, my eyesight has fluctuated and I've needed several pairs of glasses. It's not the first time I've had a complaint about how Darlington deal with disabled people. I've been a customer here for 18 years. As I was there at it was their error - why didn't they absorb the cost of the test themselves if it was too early for my free NHS appointment? They would have made money on the new glasses I would have had to invariably buy.

I was greeted straight away. Everything was explained to me and all the staff were friendly but very professional. I would recommend Specsavers without any hesitation.

Unfortunately I am highly disappointed with the way specsavers treat customers after there eye test, 45 minute wait just to choose glasses and get the measurements is an absolute joke, they can't even say 'things take time' when there's 3 staff stood about and 1 woman with 4 clipboards in her arms doing nothing at all, the poor old people with walking difficulties or joint pains stood or sat around for even longer that 45 minutes and they wonder why people are kicking off or saying 'there not a proper opticians' sort it out, as a woman with a chronic illness and autism the wait for this is overwhelming and quite frankly painfulCredit needs to be given for the speed of the service from staff for the pre tests before seeing the optician and the quality of the test when done the service and staff at this stage have great organisation and positive attitude

Great staff all welcoming and eager to help. But the experience does feel a little cattle market style , that is not the fault of the staff i am sure its just the size of the building with limited floor space abd being very busy, hence they have to " process" alot of people.
