In this review section there seems to be a lot of reviews about a lady and I think I?ve come across her today and completely know what the reviews are talking about.
Went to get a full tank of fuel and went inside the shop. I told the lady what pump and said I had a shell card. I then completed the payment on my phone through Apple Pay.
It was wurring around for a little bit and she goes ?it?s going to decline? The tone this was said in wasn?t pleasant either. Almost confrontational.
I then say or it could just be the internet. She ignores what I?ve said and says it again. ?It?s gonna decline?. I then say well I have enough money in my account.
Finally just to prove her wrong which was really funny it approved. And she says ? it must have been the card reader?
Yeah that wasn?t what you were aiming toward making out I don?t have enough funds.
I work in customer service and I would never say something like that. If a payment is loading then you just wait until the outcome is clear rather than trying to blame me when it?s unclear what the issue is.
There are other staff at this garage which are amazing an older guy who typically works mornings. He?s really nice I just think this woman needs at least a talking to about how she?s treating customers.
Seems not just to be my interaction either that has been rude by the other reviews.

The staff are nice. But the petrol is the most expensive in Darlington. It's usually 5 to 10p more expensive than at near by Ayclifee and Shildon. The stock levels are always really poor to. Don't expect to get a sandwich.

Called in here during the day. Initially waited some time beside the pump before it was eventually turned on for me to use.
The entrance to the shop was closed so I had to use the night window to pay. Served by an older woman who tried to use the card reader through the glass, but the transaction failed. She then banged quite hard on the top of the night slot to indicate to me to put my card in. Totally unnecessary. Petrol paid for and when returning my card she put it in the slot and slammed it as hard as she could.
Shocking customer service from a Shell garage which will only make me use another garage. Avoid.

For me, it's missing a car wash/jet wash. Shop is pretty small for the trade.

I used to work here for around 3 years and witnessed serious misconduct from management level down. I would like to whistle-blow on how badly the place is run, but as most of the people who work there are related to each other, it would probably just get swept under the carpet. But if you want to provide me with the details to discuss this further then please do so.

I would just like to say the two Mature Gents who work in the garage are fantastic. Customer service skills and friendliness are out of this world...Sorry for saying Mature but I cant remember your names .

Staff excellent, milk sour a number of times. Wouldn't dare buy chicken products from there anymore.

Upate, Garage fuel prices are competitive, compared to other garages in the area, well worth a check if near.Good place to purchase fuel, as a good price, the store layout allows for one way travel to pay. Only concern is when the older customer goes in and ignores signs and try and walk past without wearing a mask themselves and ignoring verbal advice to stay away and think of other users who may not have been jabbed.... Cannot blame staff as they are doing everything to ensure the store is safe.

My fav place to do drug drop offs bc it is easy to get to from all around Darlo and they sell me energy drinks even though I'm twelve.

Lovely gentleman served us, couldn't afford everything but lovely gentleman helped us out. Definitely recommend.
