Stopped in to try and pay some money in to clear an overdraft for someone, staff were rude abrupt and not very helpful.When asking generalised information about account procedures, my questions were brushed off and dismissed.Not sure what has happened to banking Customer Service in recent years, but no wonder lots of online Internet banks are stealing millions of customers!!

I had an international transfer to complete for a figure less than £200. I recalled that when I used the online method it cost an inproportionate fee, so I went into Darlington to deal with the issue.'It's cheaper to do it online,' I was told, 'It will cost you £25 to do the transfer within a branch, but only £10 if you do so on your home banking.'Hello, whoever is reading these in Santander!I came home and did my transfer online only to be told at the end of the transaction that I'd been charged £25 for the privilege.I now have to ask myself if the staff member didn't know the charge, or if she simply didn't feel like doing her job properly.

I bank with Santander and this is my local branch. I went in to this branch to get some statements printed off as I don't have a printer at home. First of all I had to wait in a massive queue as there was only 1 member of staff on. When I reached the front and told the lady I would like some past dated statements printed off she sent me to a waiting area and I waited for quite some time before another member of staff approached me telling me I had to use the computer and do it myself. After logging into my account and finding the statements I needed I then had to wait for seemed like an eternity yet again whilst my statements were collected from the printer and checked. My first question would be, if you have to do everything yourself then why employ staff or even better why have a branch here? Next time I need statements printing I think I will use the library. It's quicker and less hassle
