I was at Sainsbury's in Darlington with a service user to get some groceries. Sainsbury's is quite cheaper than some other grocery stores. A good place to get your groceries if you are in Darlington. The staff were of great help when we were trying to get some groceries and can't get to locate them.

I have lived in Darlington for 20 years and all I can say is this supermarket is a shadow of its former self. The pandemic has obviously served as a pretext to close all the fresh counters and all we are left with is prepacked meat and fish. I thought they were trying to reduce the amount of plastic? ??? Same for the bakery. You now have very limited choice and the new self-service slicer they have introduced is both a nuisance and unhygienic.

Went for a coffee and a few shopping items, only to find the cafe has closed. The atmosphere was miserable. Sainsbury have taken some poor strategic decisions and I wouldn't be surprised if they are taken over.

The only large supermarket downtown Darlington. Quality products plus Argos. Parking is a nightmare with poor signage and a parking deck that leaks. Self-checkout machines have 1990s technology, as in they don?t work very well, and double security has to scan your receipt to exit, making you feel like a criminal. Insufficient, overworked staff.
