From start to finish the experience at Optical Express has been fantastic!initial appointment was thorough and professional which set the tone for the whole process,the clinic at Newcastle was spotlessly clean ,the staff from those who greeted and processed me to the surgeon and support medical staff who carried out the procedure were superb!
The procedure itself was pain free(6 minutes per eye!)the antibiotic eyedrops help your recovery,there was a gritty feeling for the first week which is a slight discomfort,but it was well worth it for the ability to be glasses free for the first time in 20 years!Wish I had done this sooner!P.S forgot to mention the aftercare which was also top quality!

It?s been 5 weeks since my lens replacement with Optical Express, and I?m so pleased with how well my eyes are doing so far! My vision is improving, and although it?s still early days, I?m feeling really positive about the progress. I had both my eyes lenses replaced approximately 12 years ago. Costing over £4000. I never got on with the replacements and kept going back for check ups as I kept seeing blurry vision and double vision, for the first 18 months I was told your brain needs to adapt to the new lenses.
12 years on now and I have kept going back to see optical express, I was told to take 3 eye tests and they would let me know where and when, I went all over the country to these appointments, I kept getting told I needed glasses, I refused as I was told before my operation that I would never have to wear glasses ever again. It turns out now that I have to wear glasses because optical express wanted another £4000 to do laser correction. Be very carefully using this company as I am nearly blind now, I cannot drive, I cannot see products in a supermarket. Strange they have a get out clause in the small print that anything that needs doing should be done in the first 12 months of surgery, funny I was told my brain needs adjusting for the first 18 months. Be carful make sure you read any small print before signing or paying any money, they are rip off merchants.

Can?t reccomend them enough for laser eye surgery. From initial consultation through to just being discharged today, I am over the moon. It?s the best money I?ve ever spent on myself and probably ever will be. I was so concerned about the health of my eyes with contact lenses and rapidly increasing prescribtions and now I?ve got better than 20/20 vision and no issues, and the health of my eye is perfect now. I can?t quite believe it still. The process was smooth. The surgery itself was so quick, if anything too quick, which is good and bad. It was painless during the surgery itself. It didn?t start to become uncomfortable until I was in the car on the way home, so I reccomend having someone be able to take you home/hotel quite quickly so you can settle and take some pain killers and get off to sleep. I did manage to sleep for a couple of hours and the pain had calmed down. Vision was good straight after, just a little blurry and then 20/20 by the next day. Amazing!! I found the surgery ok to cope with as I just reminded myself how it was worth it, and they knew what they were doing. I just put faith in that. And tried to zone out. Easier said than done I know. But you can?t actually see. It?s not the most amazing experience the surgery itself but it?s manageable! And such a short amount of time. I found it quite overwhelming how quick it was really. The staff at Newcastle were fantastic and the team at Darlington are also fantastic. Can?t fault them one bit! Thank you!!

The service post-eye test is fine, helpful staff, lots of nice frames at reasonably competitive prices. What a shame though that I had to go elsewhere for an eye test. I could nt wait 4/5mths for an appointment. Come on Optical Express sort this out.
