Bought a second car from this garage in May and it's had no end of faults, and Evans Halshaw have been so unhelpful when we've tried to get help. They don't answer the phone, and when we've gone into the building to try and speak to someone in person, they've only had temporary sale staff who can't help because they say all the normal staff are on holiday. So rubbish. Couldn't recommend less.

I am extremely disappointed with Evans-Halshaws lack of customer care, incompetence and negligence following a sale.I bought a non-Citroen car from this branch.Shortly after buying it, the car presented a warning light due to an engine fault. I tried calling the dealership about it but it turns out they don't pick up the phone unless they are expecting a sale. If you have any doubts, try calling them during business hours and see how long it takes customer service to pick up.After giving up on calling, I brought the car to the branch without an appointment and asked to be seen. By chance, the garage was not busy that day and so one of their team did look at my car. All they did was reset the fault and made up a reason for it, and sent me on my way. As soon as I got home the fault reappeared.Again, nobody would pick up the phone when I tried calling.I went back to the dealership another day and this time there was nobody manning the customer service desk. The sales staff scrambled around and eventually found someone to talk to me who was obviously not ready to help me and all he could do was offer me a slot in the garage in 2 weeks time. They offered no apology for the problem or the distress it has caused me. I asked for a loan car and they said they didn't have any. After walking away and talking to the sales manager, they decided they did have someone in the garage available after all who would repeat the diagnostic they had done on my previous visit. They then told me I'd have to go to the manufacturer's branch as the problem was something they couldn't help with. They said they would help set up the booking and would call me the next working day. At this point I had been waiting for a long time and had places to be so I accepted.They did not call, and again, they didn't pick up the phone when I tried calling them again. The issue still is not fixed after several weeks and I can't use my car.As a second line of complaint, at the time of buying, the sales team told me that the manufacturers warranty would expire shortly after I bought the car and so they sold me the Evans Halshaw Premium Guarantee warranty package for a premium price. Later it turned out the car still had extended warranty from the manufacturer for just over 2 years, and what's more, when the faults with the car appeared, the Evans Halshaw person I managed to speak to after much trouble told me the car was still on the manufacturer's warranty so the manufacturer would pay for parts instead of Evans Halshaw. Therefore it is quite clear they knew the manufacturer's warranty was still in place at the time of the sale, and had lied to me and mis-sold me the so-called Premium Guarantee package.I have some other minor complaints too, but I think I've written enough to give the general picture.Don't buy from here.

Gary was a very professional non pushy salesman ,but a one who answered all of my millions of questions with a wealth of knowledge and went out of his way to find the car suitable to my budget and nothing was any trouble . Came up to Darlington from Norfolk to see a 2015 Vauxhall Astra that looked ideal. I wasen't disappointed - the vehicle exceeded expectations and I proceed to purchase. My salesman, Gary Dunn was polite, professional and took the time to genuinely listen and respond to all of my question and queries. Great experience all round.

You would think that all new car dealerships would treat any customer with respect, professionalism and knowledge about the industry that they represent, unfortunately this is not the case until I spoke to Thomas Richmond at Evans Halshaw in Darlington.Thomas worked tirelessly to make sure that I had the vehicle that I wanted.
