We were staying in a local Airbnb place for my husbands 60th. We booked online for a party of 7 and were given a large square table in the back corner of the bar which was perfect. We had two small dogs with us and they were happy to be able to sit on the bench seats with us without being told to get down.
The staff were all extremely friendly, the food was delicious and there were options for both vegan and coeliac - both needed for our party.
Would definitely go back if we were int the area again - thank you for a lovely night

Had a lunchtime meal at the Travellers with my Mam. Food was good but the real stand out was Hannah who was serving from the kitchen and behind the bar singlehandedly.
She was awesome and somehow managed to juggle everything with a huge smile on her face. A real asset, who I hope is valued by the management.

Just had a roast beef dinner with my hubby and our 6 year old.
It was, in our 6 year olds words, lush!
Fabulous service, amazing portions and the beef was melt in the mouth.

Me and my partner have just had a lamb dinner.
Absolutely stupendous.

Brought Scouse Rob here 3 times and never had a bad meal. Sunday dinner was particularly good, belly pork was cooked perfectly.

Nice quiet calm welcoming environment lovley place
I decided to be greedy and have doubled up cheese burger and chips probs best burger ive had in a few years was well presented full of flavor, great food, hats off to the chef i will drop in again in the future when in the area for sure

Great food with great service. That was the case, food is now served in a slightly better fashion than weather spoons. Menu has lost all it's good bits, no specials board.The service is not much better especially behind the bar, attitude at its finest.Used to the best place in Consett but gone seriously downhill.Won't be going back
