Oh dear, this shop is going to be so dangerous (to my bank balance). Didn't think there were many of these shops left, and to find it in our local town, how lucky am I.
Staff friendly, and very knowledgeable regarding the stuff they sell, french chic paint for me this time, at a reasonable price, actually cheaper than bog standard gloss paint in b&q. But there are haberdashery items, wool, buttons etc, plus crafting supplies. Didn't take it all in to be honest. Plus there is a watercolour class on a Tuesday and Friday. Only £6.50. Can't paint, but might give it a go, after I've upcycled my dresser.

Another lovely little craft shop in Consett. The front of house is all about wool, knitting, crochet etc. Through the back is a good assortment of artist materials, ribbons and threads, and assorted other craft items. I noticed stuff for lino cutting, wax melts, card making, glues, buttons, different kinds of pens, markers and pencils, acrylic, oil and Watercolour paints, different art papers etc. If you want a craft knife or scissors etc then just ask, there's a good selection behind the till. The prices are very good, mostly cheaper than the high Street and some as good as online but, of course, with the personal touch. There's a very nice lady behind the till who was very helpful. We've been back a few times now!

After sending a message in advance to ask if they stocked the items I needed (listing all items) which they confirmed yes they do. I arrived this morning to find they did not in fact stock the items. Completely wasted journey.

Visited Jula Crafts today and received fantastic, friendly service. I didn?t know which frenchic paint to get and Stacey was very knowledgable about the different shades. She gave me some great tips. I?ll definitely be visiting again, and would recommend anyone wanting frenchic to have a look in.

If I could rate lower I would....I always try to support local independent shops but I ordered some wool about 7/8 weeks ago. I've been going in over the last weeks trying to pick it up to be told by a rather rude woman that it hasn't even been ordered yet and wouldn't be till at least January....its irrelevant that I've started the pattern already and already brought the other colour I brought from them. Conveniently they didn't tell me that before I had finished buying the other one. Awful customer service
