I had an issue with a grass seed malfunction which I explained to Linda (manager). I was so impressed with the understanding, care and politeness shown by the staff. To make things even better I was give substitute seed. Bravo tesco, I will maintain my custom with your store.

BEWARE IF YOU'RE BUYING A MEAL DEAL. Some of todays items on the shelf advertised as Dine In were no longer part of the deal therefore didn't trigger the discount at the till. A member of staff helped us to change the offending item to something that was included and took us to customer services to have the problem resolved. Due to a new till system all of the original items now need to be refunded and then rescanned to get the deal. Unfortunately despite the staff member ensuring we had a correct selection the deal still didn't go through the till. As we were running out of time we asked for the refund till receipt. Supposedly the new system doesn't print this. We were expected to accept that although my total shopping bill was already deducted from my bank I would need to wait a few days for the refund without any till receipt or evidence that I had in fact been refunded! The lady on customer service understood fully that we should have a refund receipt and was trying to reproduce it while a colleague and the manager were totally unhelpful. At the moment we have been charged for £40 worth of goods, left the shop with £17.50 worth in our bag and waiting for the £22.50 to be refunded at some point, without any written proof that, we did in fact get a refund, but no paper trail to help if this doesn't come through. BE WARNED ANYONE LOOKING FOR A VALENTINE'S MEAL DEAL.....MORE CHOICES TO CAUSE CHAOS ON THE NEW SYSTEM. POOR PERFORMANCE TESCO ON SO MANY LEVELS.

Signage for aisle contents poor and incomplete. Difficult to find stuff unless you're a regular. Unlikely cos you can't find stuff easily.

Recently the Chester-le-Street branch has been a mess. So many lines out of stock, even everyday staples like cereals, jams and smoothies today. Often you can't get at stuff on the shelves because of stock trolleys parked in the way. Some staff are helpful, but there are some surly ones. It's enough to make me consider changing supermarkets I'm afraid. Awful.

People taking part in the Brand Clubcard Challenge need to know that some of the items advertised as being part of the brand challenge somehow do not count as the brand challenge when purchased from this store. I purchased 3 branded products under the brand I selected, none were on offer, broken, returned, stolen etc but 2 were not part of the challenge. How on earth are you supposed to know that as a customer? In addition another brand challenge did not update and that was part of the challenge, their system was just not working. This strongly seems like a scam to me or else this store is not participating in a good faith manner.
