At the shop and according to Google it says open. According to reviews it?s 24 hours but according to the hand written note in the window the shop is closed. Somebody make sense of that.

I visit on adverage once a week and It?s usually 50/50, if you call in here late at night, that you?ll get served inside. Excuses include, on two occasions we?ve been robbed and police are on route so only serving cigarettes n fuel, lorry is unloading stock so can?t let anyone in only serving cigarettes or fuel. The excuses are mounting up! This is a 24hr serve. I travel a 20mile round trip to get refreshments that are sold exclusively at the branches M&S food outlet.

I've read the other reviews and have to say I've never encountered any issues with the fuel pumps. The fuel can be pricier than others but supermarket fuel always is...if you want to see expensive try Whitemare pool !!Staff at this garage are always very friendly and welcoming, M&S store is incredibly handy for getting the essentials on your way home from work.

At first glance the pumps look impressive. However, once you start using them, the first impression falls apart. The nozzles have glove dispensers, but the pump I used (no. 6) did not have a single glove in any of the fuel types on offer. Next, the pump automatically shuts off even when you know you could be filling in another 40 to 50 litres of fuel. In fact, after shutting off about a dozen times the pump wouldn't let me fill in more than 38 litres, even when I held the nozzle well outside the filler pipe of the car to allow for air to circulate. At that point, I could have easily added another 7 litres. Finally, the pictograms on the pump show that you need to pay in Euros!!!

The most expensive petrol in county durham. People park at the pumps then go inside and order breakfast. The forecourt is on an angle so your £10 petrol doesn't even register on your dash.Theres a pound on top of all the prices of everyday items they even charge for air and water. I saw one of the staff bringing a bucket of food out to the bin sandwiches cakes etc and asked if they could be donated or could I buy a few. NO! was the answer they have to go in the bin. Pure waste. It takes around 40 seconds from lifting the pump to the staff letting it flow all round bad experience. There's a petrol station 2 mile up the motorway where your fuel is sometimes 8p per litre cheaper

Clean and tidy forecourt well presented.Annoyingly they close the access road from Chester Le Street when they have a delivery which always seems to be when I want a coffee. There's an M+S mini supermarket and a wild bean coffee area, coffee is good but seems to be a lot stronger these days. Hot sandwiches are available however all pre made and chucked in an oven for a minute, they can be quite dry tbh.

Called in for a coffee the other day being a key worker for the electricity board keeping customers power on. Told by staff only police and ambulance services only. Replied saying we are key workers keeping people?s power on in this difficult time told only police or ambulance to get coffee, poor customer service. I didn?t want it for free and was happy to pay disappointed.

I visited the BP station ( Chester Le street) yesterday. There was some problem with the pump 2 and I got no fuel out of it. I paid for the fuel and left the place . Later, I realised that the pump had dispensed no fuel. I made a complaint within 20 minutes after the fuelling . The response was as expected . The response was lame and NEGATIVE. AVOID the site?.

Very convenient location, great service station and friendly staff. Only reason for four stars is it?s not very good on price. But you are getting quality fuel. The M&S shop attached is like a mini foodhall with lots of treats. Also reasonable over the counter medicines selection if you need it.
