I ordered an item online, but it arrived in the wrong size (smaller than what I ordered). Instead of offering a refund, the store required me to return home and do it through the app as they can?t do swap in the shop without a receipt ? even though the purchase was made online. After I eventually located the receipt in the store?s own app and returned, the manager admitted they didn?t know how to process refunds for online purchases. Unprofessional, unhelpful, and a ridiculous waste of time.

I take my 71 year old mam for a coffee every sunday at the costa inside tesco billingham.
The costa is 5* and this score is no reflection on them but on the security staff at tesco billingham.
Upon leaving the costa we head to the exit and accosted by a security guard telling us we must walk through self serve and show receipt to get out,i explained we hadnt purchased from tesco,we had been for a coffee he seemed to back off.
But we were made to feel we had done something wrong.
Shame the security are not a little more switched on to the thieves that are in the store instead of approaching women and making them feel like we have broken a law or done something wrong.
Theres no signs advising customers to walk a particular route to exit so we are confused at the random interaction with the security guard.
Perhaps some training can be provided to the individual who was on shift 20/07/25 between 11-12.

Jan in dairy is such an angel and a credit to the store. We came in just before Christmas and the place was packed. She really went out of her way to help me find blinis for my canapés. She walked me to the section, when they weren?t there she asked a colleague, when her colleague couldn?t help she looked them up on the system and then she told me she would physically search for them. I was all the way over the other end of the store when she approached me with a box full of several packets and let me help myself. She really REALLY went above and beyond to make sure I had a positive experience and didn?t leave disappointed. Such a kind and hardworking person and lovely lady. For all the reasons that we spend most of our money online shopping these days, Jan reminded me why shopping in store can also be a really pleasant experience. Customer service and just genuine kindness at its best. Thank you Jan.

I visited the Tescos in the Billingham superstore on the 1st of December to purchase a 70cl bottle of Singleton of Dufftown Malt Master's Whisky, priced at a Clubcard price of £24. At the checkout, I was told the bottle was full price and not on offer. Despite my explanation that I had recently bought the same bottle at the Tesco on Durham Road for the offer price, the manager insisted there was no offer.
The manager assured me that all Tescos have identical pricing.
Frustrated, I went to the Tesco on Durham Road and purchased the bottle for £24, as originally stated. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of support from the manager and overall not satisfied with this experience.

Went into Tesco Billingham and came out feeling absolutely fed up. The staff on self checkout today were the most unhelpful, disinterested bunch I have ever encountered at Tesco. Normally I find the staff pleasant and happy to help, but not today. I'm not one who usually leaves reviews, but this experience really got to me. When you are pleasant and polite and you get that attitude in return, it's like a slap in the face. Horrible!

Ah, dear sirs and ladies of refined taste, allow me to recount my most recent foray into the realm of commerce, specifically the esteemed emporium known as Billingham Tesco. Verily, the experience did yield moments of amusement, yet I cannot, in good conscience, bestow upon it more than a meager two stars, for reasons that shall soon become evident.Upon entering this establishment, I was immediately greeted by an array of commodities the likes of which would astound even the most intrepid explorer. However, it soon became apparent that the denizens of this modern marketplace do possess a peculiar sense of fashion. One fellow, with his trousers sagging in a manner reminiscent of a ship's sails losing their rigging, seemed quite convinced that his ankles were indeed a sight to behold. I confess, I could not help but suppress a chuckle at his apparent unawareness of this sartorial misstep. But the pièce de résistance, my dear compatriots, was the captivating performance put forth by a gentleman who fancied himself a master of the melodious arts. With an instrument bearing an uncanny resemblance to a squashed pumpkin, he endeavored to produce a symphony that defied the very laws of harmony. The discordant strains emanating from his efforts elicited both bewilderment and a certain measure of pity from the surrounding populace, myself included.Furthermore, it appears that a fad of conversing loudly with invisible confidantes has taken root amongst the clientele. One cannot help but marvel at the extent of this phenomenon, as it would appear that the air itself serves as a telephonic device for these peculiar exchanges. Indeed, the ingenuity of the modern age knows no bounds.Alas, as I embarked upon my exit, a most curious incident transpired involving an altercation over the last remaining jar of pickled cucumbers. It seems that two gentlemen, both possessing an affinity for preserved gourds, engaged in a most impassioned debate, which culminated in a vigorous contest of arm-wrestling. I must confess, dear readers, that I departed the scene posthaste, lest I too become entangled in this peculiar skirmish. In conclusion, my sojourn to Billingham Tesco did not disappoint in terms of comedic entertainment provided by the intriguing members of the public. However, the grandeur and elegance befitting a noble aristocrat such as myself were regrettably absent from this establishment. Thus, I reluctantly extend a rating of two stars, with the caveat that one may indeed encounter a spectacle quite unlike any seen within the hallowed halls of society.
