Rooms: We chose an upgraded room and it overlooked the garden which was lovely.Quiet and comfortable, we would recommend this hotel. Chilly weather outside but room was cosily warm.Food & drinks: Breakfast was excellent 10/10 for excellent food and service. Fantastic staff.Very tasty and lots of choices.Booked a table for 6 in Dickens bistro and had before and after drinks to celebrate family member's 60th birthday. The bar was very lively and we enjoyed a great evening.Food very mediocre sorry to say and feel the menu could be improved. However the bar staff and service was excellent.

Came for a spa day for my wife's birthday as she's always wanted to visit and the reputation is well earned.

The Morritt Hotel has welcoming and helpful staff plus rooms that are quaint. There are conference and meeting rooms onsite and the grounds are lovely to meander around in fine weather. The bar, with its impressive wall art, is well stocked with drinks from the region and beyond.

Stayed at The Morritt, with our dog, to break the journey from Surrey to a family Christmas in Scotland, and again on the return trip home. The hotel is dog-friendly, our superoir room in the annex was large and comfortable, and the staff were very helpful and looked after us well. The location was perfect for our purposes, being very close to the A66 (but not suffering from road noise) and with an off-lead dog walk only a couple of minutes walk away. We?ll definitely stay here again on our next trip to Scotland.

Really disappointing stay at the Morritt in November. The hotel is lovely from the outside but is quite dated. We got put in an accessible room in an annex which was a short walk from the hotel. It freezing, smelt awful and just generally did not feel very welcoming. Even smaller details like the spa menu and information sheet in the room were stained so clearly more attention to detail required. Breakfast was fairly standard. It is the only hotel I have ever stayed in where I actually wanted to leave early! The only good thing about this hotel is the spa which although small was a great way to spend an afternoon and the staff members were really nice and friendly!

I came here with a group of 12 for the Christmas party night, including a three course meal, Robbie Williams tribute singer and DJ.I had never been here before but I was very impressed overall. The food was delicious, the Morritt catered to my food allergies. Food was hot and good size portions. The Robbie Williams act was alright, nothing amazing but it was a good laugh and nice to sing along and dance. The DJ was also good. The venue was decorated nicely and staff were very helpful and friendly.I had a fabulous night and would not hesitate to go again for one of these events. Thank you Morritt.

Spa only :Run down , dated and small, really a shame as it's a great location3 rooms 2 cold one warm and one hot tub as other was empty.Even if this was all working, it would be lucky to fit 7 -10 people in....Refunded and left.Used a days holiday [wasted] and 1 hrs travel .Offered to come again instead of refund .... no, thank youReally hope they turn the place around.

Rooms are a bit tired and needing some tlc, carpets, walls etc. Service was good, just breakfast was quite slow, asked for some vegetarian options and it was a long wait then very over cooked so wasn't even worth the wait . Location is great and the ev slow charger is a great addition to plug in while staying a night!

Just returned from my first ever spa day including an overnight stay with a very dear lifelong friend that I don't see often but what a lovely experience we both had. Beautiful location and very peaceful with lots of wildlife around the grounds. Every single member of staff we came across between the hotel and the spa were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Everyone was friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing and portion sizes were VERY generous! Being my first spa experience I can't really compare with anywhere else but it certainly helped me unwind. The spa facilities were clean and the treatments were very relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!
