Really friendly lady serving and allowed us to take a seat up until closing time. She made sure to give us takeaway cups for our drinks so that we didn't need to rush them whilst we ate our bacon baps.

I've been to this Costa a couple of times, now this review is only a 1 star because of the delicious drinks, otherwise I would have gone 0 however I believe that all Costas make drinks the exact same. Now this place is not special and is not ideal for children. The staffs behaviour is disgusting. One time I ordered a hot chocolate and got recommended a vitamin b tea. The healthiest thing on the menu. Then when I said no thank you, she asked me if I was sure and I replied "yes, thank you" she instantly rolled her eyes at me, walked away and continued to whisper onto her fellow co-workers about my weight. This was not ok. I am glad the drinks were good otherwise I would have called out the manager... Do not recommend

Popped in for a quick takeaway coffee. Although this Costa is located in a beautiful location, the store wasn't clean, and the toilets were absolutely filthy!!!If I return to Barnard again, visiting this place wouldn't be high on my agenda. Although I'm sure if you were to visit early when opening the toilets may well be hygienic!No issue with the staff or the service though.

Costa Coffee in Barnard Castle is a typical version of the chain. From a design perspective it is a tad bland but it is clean and tidy with plenty of seating, including a pleasant outdoor area looking onto the castle ruins. Service was efficient and the coffee good.
