The Blue Bell is situated down the hill away from the shops and bars. We called a couple of times during our stay. Friendly staff and a cosy feel. On one occasion we sat in the beer garden which was quite pleasant and can imagine it would be a heat trap through the day. Weird opening and closing times. Reasonable priced drinks.

Ventured in one Saturday (late afternoon) after many years of avoiding the place (mainly the stench of dogs and unwashed men!). I was pleasantly surprised. Lovely and clean, range of music at a suitable level, a few locals, friendly bar man, pool table, average prices but cash only. We?ll be back

Called in, just for a pint with partner, met by a happy barman who was begrudged to get ice for gin tonic, had a pint but tasted of chemicals, not nice, another customer complained without result, I took my pint back tipped down drain with no offer of replacement. Will not visit again.
