Closed on a Saturday afternoon for a 'private function'. No sign outside, and no way to find out online if they are closed. A wasted journey.

What a cracker of a pub, stumbled across this place on a walk, substantial beer garden with lots of seating and a play area, really traditional feel inside and plenty of food and ales on offer plus a friendly welcome. Highly recommended for a well earned pint.

Traditional country pub, great food , land lady & staff friendly but not over bearing , lovely garden with children facilities , if you want to step back in time to a real rural pub this is the place .

Could be a lovely pub but needs some TLC. Beer not too good. Light not working in ladies and no toilet roll. Not a very enjoyable experience

Tuesday 18th July. Walked across the heath on a sunny afternoon looking forward to a cool cider. Sat in Pub garden as I write this. 16.25 and alls in darkness. Good job we both have a bottle of water to walk back with. .

We had a lovely visit today after a hot walk at Durdle Door. The street presentation of the pub is lovely with superb hanging baskets. The rear beer garden was lovely with plenty of tables and large umbrellas. The lady that served us was lovely, we only had drinks today, presented very well. Will be back again!Large car park.

Stopped going there which is a shame as has potential to be a nice pub. Drinks had stuff floating in it from the pipes, no atmosphere, staff not welcoming, shame.

Disappointing visit - couldn't have been made to feel more unwelcome. Stopped off for one drink after local walk, barely spoken to. Not surprised not more support for this pub if this is their idea of customer service/hospitality - will take custom elsewhere next time.

Stopped by for lunch. Had a cracking broccoli & stilton soup and a cheese burger and chips. All very tasty, esp the soup, and not over priced. They've got a 5am May Day BBQ and Morris dance which we hope to go to. This is a great little pub which deserves a lot of support.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The food was disgusting and the service even worse. The old woman who seved us had the worst halitosis and BO. She was rude and insulting and the food tasted worse than the slop they serve at motorway services. It's not even worth one green circle.

We give up! We have visited twice in the last month to eat. On Good Friday at 1.35 but they stop food at 1.30, even on Bank Holidays! On May 1st they opened for Breakfast from 5 to 8AM so we thought another chance was in order. We arrived at twenty to 8 but were told there was nothing left. There was actually plenty of sausages and a few other things and we would have been flexible. Just a sausage sandwich even, but no. We tried, we failed. I wonder what the food is like?
