Beautiful venue let down by the staff due to their utter lack of hospitality training. Unless you fit a very narrow criteria of cliental you will be treated with disdain. If you take your concerns direct to them they will ignore you, because that's how classy they really are underneath all the pomp and ceremony.

It's special in terms of food and beverage quality as well as service and location and atmosphere. Not cheap but worth it.Food & drinks: Delicious well presented and cooked food with even some reasonable priced but drinkable wines.Noteworthy details: Clever blend of old traditional construction with modern convenience.

Celebrated my wife's milestone birthday with 6 friends in the restaurant. The staff made us feel so welcome and were very attentive without being overbearing, very professional. The food was an absolute delight, cooked, and presented to perfection. Many thanks to all the staff in The Priory Hotel restaurant who made it such a special evening.

The entire physical setting of the Priory is wonderful: immaculate gardens, a flowing river and buildings seeping with history. The staff were pleasant, efficient and clearly loved their work at the Priory. The Priory Hotel is a gem!

This was our 3rd stay at this wondefully situated hotel. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. Our party of 6 stayed in 3 of the boathouse rooms which are overlooking the river. Since our last stay, the evening meal arrangement has changed to a set menu of 3 courses at £70. We found 3 courses too much as the portions were quite large, there is no longer an alternative a la carte menu, which is a shame. Also be prepared on check out for an extra 5 % service charge to be added on the accommodation charge, (we have not seen this before).

I stayed with a work booking previously this weekend and I have to say that the place is nothing short of amazing. It?s a lovely cute and homely hotel in a remote town. The hotel is just off the main road in Wareham, but not too close to the chaos. The service given by Wayne and AJ can?t be described as anything less than exceptional as well as the manager and others! The room was clean, and the food was superb. My phone charger was accidentally left behind and the Priory generously offered to send it to my home. I will have to come back for an out of work stay!! Many Thanks !!

It was the day before our wedding anniversary. We did not say, we just wanted the experience. It was great. The hotel is very well presented and looked after. The gardens are superb located by the river. We had Sunday lunch, and as pescatarians had a choice of fish. The food was delightful in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the gardens and river. Our room was a characterful classic, very well presented. Breakfast was good. The service from the staff was brilliant.

Went to The Priory Hotel today for lunch. What a beautiful location. The ambience is second to none. The food and service was absolutely faultless. The staff friendly, welcoming and attentive. The grounds of the hotel slope down to the river and are beautifully kept with an old world feel. Amazing.

We do not normally write reviews on the best hotels we stay in - obviously we prefer to keep these secret places to ourselves! But having again booked the Priory for a few nights next month on our return trip from the West Country and having had yet another totally splendid few days there last Spring I just happened to check recent reviews. Our secret is well out! This is, we would agree, one of the best hotels in the UK. You simply cannot fault The Priory. The staff are always friendly, the rooms gorgeous, there are no snarling dogs, the food faultless, the garden beautiful and other guests always friendly. It?s that sort of place, excellent quality but not stuffy, such an easy atmosphere. Sitting on the terrace with a pre dinner drink is heaven.
