I'm honestly saddened to give a 3 star reveiw. I've been waiting to go to Monkey World for the last 8-9 years. However, I have never found the time. My partner booked a weekend away close by here to help fulfil this "dream" of mine, and unfortunately, my expectations were so high that I ended up ruining my own experience. I think a small part of me was thinking because it was part of a TV show it would be high-end, cleaner, more staff around and a lot bigger. This was entirely my fault, not the rescue centre.I love the concept of this place. It's a rescue for those poor primates that have fallen into the hands of wrong people, and I appreciate it so much.I did come across one chimpanzee call Naree, she sat near the window, greeting everyone, at one point I put my hand on the glass and she did the same. So that was cute ?If you bring children, that's great as this place has not 1 but 2 play areas. They seem to focus on catering for families. The cost of the tickets were in my opinion, extortionate, especially as when you walk in there's not much to show for it.Food place was OK, and nice and cheap.Gift shop was also ok.

An interesting place to visit, however I would advise not going on a wet day or too soon after opening time. My visit was on a day when heavy drizzle was falling, this meant that only one or two of the apes were out in their compounds. This meant that we had to observe through glass where possible. I say where possible because many of the accommodations were being cleaned and the inhabitants were away out of sight. It's a shame that the cleaning could not be completed before the park opened. The park would benefit from a lot more direction signs as it is a large area. Finally, £2-50 for a paper cup of Diet Coke in the round cafe near the Orang nursery was a complete rip off.

Great day out for a family that doesn't break the bank. Very responsible prices in the cafe as well

Been here twice now, I feel the second time around the place has gone a little down hill, got a bit scruffy! I didn't enjoy it the 2nd time, I also feel people need to be mindful of their children being unruly it could scare the monkeys and also it's a bit annoying for people that do actually want to see the monkeys without screaming kids. A person was smoking in a clearly signed no smoking zone which ticked me off to be honest, why can't people just follow rules, 2nd time was a 3 star average experience.

Lovely time. Amazing rescue centre for the apes, and we also saw local wildlife, including deer and many bird species. Cafe's were great too for food drinks, local ice cream and Slushies, with very caring staff, especially for the needs of children and disabled. There is lots of playground equipment for disabled children too. The weather was great, even though it was March, which helped to make the day so enjoyable.

Lovely place and so nice to walk around great value for money too.Only down side was the amount of people walking around smoking when it clearly states it is a no smoking place!

No one likes to see animals in cages, but worse than that are animals kept for experiments or inappropriate pets. So to see these creatures able to live as full a life as is possible, considering where they have come from is an amazing thing.I had to hold back tears as I came face to face (thanks to the glass walls of the enclosure) with an orangutan making itself comfortable and eating it's way through a lettuce, pepper and aubergine. I will never forget that moment.Obviously these awesome animals should be in the wild, but If that's just not possible Monkey World is a close second best.

We had a couple of recommendation to visit Monkey world and was not disappointed when we did visit this fantastic attraction on our way back from Devon . It was well laid out and the animals were very well cared for . Every one had a name and a story with details on information boards at each encloser . The keepers gave very interesting talks regarding each animal with some sad stories of how they were rescued from abuse or hardship from all around the world . These guys do very good work and it?s well worth visiting and supporting .

This park is so clean, tidy, and well organised. The keepers are all really friendly and have actively engaged us in conversation whilst we have been looking around. The monkeys are numerous, a d seem really happy, their enclosures are well kept and they have plenty to entertain them.Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
