Ridiculously high prices?no ?Customer Service??go elsewhere..?
February 2024 by Mr Gray
Had breakfast there recently and it's such poor quality. I wouldn't even feed it to a dog. The quality or the food is very poor. The tomato ketchup that I served tastes like pure vinegar and the baguette fell to bits. The lady who served me needs a lesson on good customer service as hers was dreadful.

I liked coming here with boarding school when I had my weekly treat when I was 15, 16 or 17 years old as it had a great selection. Once when I came here, when my carer (Mr Ruffell) told me that all we could have is nothing other than a magazine so they had a Teletubbies magazine which I found it hard to get in Swanage. They had a comprehensive selection of drinks/sweets/ice cream etc as well as a good selection of greetings cards and stationery too

Do you want something!I have beeen a customer at lookout store for well over a decade, the prices are slightly high on some products but nothing out of the norm for a holiday park store.I went to get hot food and stood at the hot counter, the larger lady looked very unpleased with the fact she had to serve customers, after being ignored for almost a minute she walked to the counter and without making eye contact or acknowledging me she said 'do you want somethin' at first I wasn't sure she was speaking to me, she took the order and turned away, did not ask if any orders required sauce and just walked back to the serving counter, put the food down and walked away without a word being said or any kind of smile or acknowledgement. Why bother employing someone like this when there are people desperate for jobs that will do the very basics of being a human and interact with the customers? The rest of the staff were nice and interacted positively with my family and other customers in the store.

Well I can't rate the site because I won't be going there, purely because of the stinking attitude of the receptionist. I asked if there was access to the forest and she replied "if you want the forest, book Wareham Forest or Birchwood Campsites". I asked the price of a 12 night stay, she said it's £37 a night. Oh, I'll work that out then shall I?! What pitch numbers do you have available please so that I can look them up on your map? "What ones do you want?" Oh, so you have lots available do you? "Yes". All in an 'I don.t want to be here' attitude and tone. Put me off completely. I have stayed at Wareham Forest and it is fantastic but full. We have not been to Birchwood but they have availability, it looks lovely and they are extremely polite and helpful on the phone. We will be going there!!!

The bigger lady behind the hot food counter makes you feel like you shouldn't even be going in there,I've been going there for 2 years on the way to work and I hope I dont get her serving me,because she speaks to you like s@#t but the rest of the staff are great

Spoke to a lady on the phone earlier and she was really rude and patronising. Not friendly at all put me off straight away. Will not be booking a stay based on this. Need to look into your customer service skills i think.

In mid October 2019 we were told we had 3 weeks to leave our campsite due to it being sold for redevelopment to lodges. We were desperate to find a new seasonal home for us and the caravan, so we went to the Lookout who along with other caravaners they took us in and were very Helpful in us and a few others moving the 4 miles to their site. Over the winter we wondered if we had done the right move and of course we all had Covid and lockdown to contend with. The Lookout opened mid July with restrictions NO facilities open (, laundrette, play areas showers and toilets closed ) taps and bins were sanitised regularly this has worked well and given us our own bubble and a chance of near normal life. There is a small well stocked shop at the site entrance, a bus sop by the site and Wareham is only 1 mile away. The lookout has looked after us very well regarding Covid and done their best to keep us safe and give us the opportunity to enjoy life and also it seems most people also acted responsibly with distancing. The site is clean and tidy with well spaced pitches we made the right decision to come here so a BIG thank you to the lookout staff .

I visited the Lookout Park on Friday 3rd July, with a view to purchase one of the residential homes as advertised on billboards outside the park. After looking at various homes I decided to look around the park, to see the standard that is kept. I noticed a rat moving around a building that the park owners have labelled as a games room. At the back of this building I found an horrific sight of rubbish, microwaves, debris that had obviously been put there by the site workers as it was in a locked enclosure. The rat had managed to elude me but I can only assume that it came from this area, due to the filthy and disgusting state it had been left in. How the park home owners put up with such disregard for basic hygiene and organisation I do not know and after viewing this debacle, I have no further interest in purchasing a home from John Romans. I have attached pictures as I feel it is in everyone's best interest to do so, especially as the site also serves as a holiday site, which I believe will be able to take visitors from the 11th July (sign on office door). There was no-one on site to speak to, despite being early afternoon. However, due to the overall condition of the park, I doubt very much that my concerns would have been dealt with correctly.

On arrival at 3:30 on a Saturday the reception was closed. There was a notice on the door stating that if closed your caravan number would be shown above, there was nothing shown. There was a number to ring which I did but that rang the phone in the closed reception. I then rang their emergency number and was told that nobody was due to arrive that day. Fortunately I had my reservation letter with me and was told that someone would come out to the office. When he arrived he checked on the computer and agreed that we were booked. We were given the keys to number 92 and told that this was under a tree and as the weather was rather wet it may be a bit of a problem with the rain dripping from the tree onto the caravan, but as the site was were fairly empty we could have the keys to number 82 and look to see which one we preferred. We chose 82. The beds were not made up and the sheet provided for the double bed was far to small to fit. Luckily we had the key to 92 so swapped the double sheet, even this was a real struggle to pull onto the mattress as this was also too small. The wallpaper was torn off in one of the twin bedrooms. The cushions in the living area were stained and dirty and one ripped down the seam. We would not use this site again.

Stayed for 3 nights camping over the August bank holiday. Our pitch was a really good size and level. Shower and toilet blocks are clean and tidy. Staff helpful and friendly. The little onsite shop (don?t think it?s part of the site) is very well stocked and staff also nice, friendly and helpful. Also the wide deer wandering around was lovely. Will be back!

Booked a 3 bedroom caravan here during school holidays because it was cheap & I quickly realised that you pay for what you get. Not very clean, stained sofas, table scratched and chipped, wet dog smell and no free wi-fi (you have to pay and signals not good anyway apparently). We also had to make up all the beds on arrival. Shower was lovely, park good for the kids and the roaming deer a bonus. However the games room was very poor..two ripped pool tables one air hockey table & table tennis. Location great for touring Dorset .
