We spent our wedding night at the hotel and the staff were so welcoming and thoughtful, they all truly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazingly memorable

Service was excellent, staff very helpful, rooms only get a 3 as we were above dining/bar and sound proofing not great, but it is an old building.
Food and drinks: Excellent

Really disapointing.
35 minutes to take drinks order and i had to prompt them for a menu.
70 minutes later we got the mains.
No one asked us how our food was and tables that ordered after us got their food before us.
Really really disapointed for alot of money that was paid for that special occasion meal.
Restaurant only.
Cant comment on the hotel.

Restaurant visit, fabulous service, and food, beautiful views
Tarnished slightly that servers were not reminding or telling people ordering pigeon fillets about the shots.

The restaurant offers a charming setting, a pleasant atmosphere. However, the food did not meet expectations. While we may have made less optimal choices by selecting some of the vegetarian options at a restaurant called The Pig, the meals were underwhelming, particularly given the price. The buttered greens which, you think you would struggle to do poorly, hadn?t been properly strained, and I found it difficult to detect any buttery flavor?.. ?watery greens?.

The pig has the most fantastic location but please be warned the hotel is not dog friendly. Even though you can bring dogs to the grounds and it was a glorious sunny January day we were made to feel a little uncomfortable and were discouraged about having drinks and food (small plates) outside due to not enough servers. We were totally okay with not bringing the dog inside but in this case would have expected a warmer reception to having service outside. There we?re multiple tables around us who all felt the same with their lovely doggies. A little frustrating due to their watertight policy on dogs in the bar area even.

I have stayed here a few times. Great location for walks and sea swimming.
Nearby activities: Walks and Studland beach for water sports. Great wood fires.
Noteworthy details: A bit expensive.

Average food and service..we were asked if we were visiting for a special occasion..we were..so even more disappointed with service and the average pub grub at expensive restaurant prices

Went for lunch. Nice atmosphere and cocktails/beer were good. But we had the bar menu and felt it was quite overpriced for a sandwich

Arrived for lunch at 2.30pm, was very busy so waitress was apologetic our table wasn't yet ready. We were sat in the bar area for some drinks while we waited until 3pm to be sat for food. Ordered drinks in the bar but the staff member making them was chatting away & so we didn't get any drinks, bar one, until 15 minutes after being moved to our table, and asking three times for these in case they had been forgotten. No problem at all with staff as they were warm & welcoming. Table sitting was slightly awkward & felt a little cramped with lots of staff dashing about to serve the many tables.
Food was lovely, though the beef shoulder a little fatty. Dessert was also decent. Overall we were sat for over 2 hours, mostly waiting for food/drinks. Originally given the wrong receipt, though this was quickly rectified. But having to pay for tap water, a charity charge & a service charge alongside food which is already expensive does feel a bit more difficult to swallow. The location is gorgeous & it's lovely to be able to walk round the herb garden. The bar & inner restaurant area (away from the windows overlooking the sea) are quite dark overall & it does feel the volume of other tables can get out of control quite easily.

We had previously stayed at The Pig at Combe and it had been amazing. However, The Pig on the Beach did not remotely live up to it. The room was tiny with malfunctioning radiator - we were offered a different room but this was even smaller. Whilst the restaurant setting is lovely, the food was subpar. My husband had the plaice which was swimming in oil and inedible. The service was unattentive making it difficult to ask for a replacement dish. We will not be returning.

So glad i stopped at the Pig today. The garden is stunning and the perfect place to sit and enjoy a drink and flatbread in the sun and take in the views. Service was great and so was the food. I will defiantly be dropping in again next time im adventuring that way!
Food and drinks: The woodfired flatbreads are great. Big enough for two to share if you just want a snack.

Had Lunch at the Pig a week ago. The decor is interesting and quirky, a great setting, and the food lovely, but the cutlery is simply appalling.I have thrown out much better knives and forks than this. I simply can't understand how they expect guests to eat off such items.

We came here for an evening meal, even though the restaurant was not that busy the service really was very poor.
I'd say the food was ok but not the quality I thought it would be.
Beautiful location but won't be coming back
Food and drinks: Amazing cocktails but food not great unfortunately
