The location is good with great views over Swanage bay, staff are friendly and helpful, the food is great but could be a little cheaper, a good selection of beers and cider , the only real negative was the lack of parking spaces, but there is a public car park nearby, all that said this is a lovely hotel for a weekend away or a longer stay ?.

Extremely disappointed that we paid extra for a superior room, only to find hotel policy is to not make rooms up, mot replenush tea and coffee, or exchange cups. This is apparently due to covid. Completely laughable. It is written in the confirmation email, but very small at the bottom of the page. Surely reception should mention it????
Before we found this we were happy with the hotel and room, but this has spoilt our experience, as one of the joys of hotels is coming into a freshly made up room.
We use hotels four or five times a year, and have NEVER experienced this before, although we were assured this is common practice in hotels now.

Superb few days at the Grand. Kind, friendly staff. Excellent food, breakfasts & Dinners. Comfortable room, wonderful views.
Only missed one star overall, due to lift out of action & refurb works on first floor. Would reccomend & intend to return.
Rooms: Up to date, clean, warm. Everything as expected.
Nearby activities: Swanage has everything to offer for all tastes.
Safety: No problems.
Food and drinks: Food excellent. Drinks also.
Little on pricy side, but good quality.
Noteworthy details: Private pathway down to beach. Beautiful staircase. Use of much enjoyed leisure club.

Excellent place to stay! All staff so helpful and friendly. Great location. Parking is limited but I was able to park right outside and there?s street parking nearby.
Unfortunately the jacuzzi was out of action during my stay. The room had a fab sea view, was lovely and warm with adjustable radiators.
Powerful hot shower. Modern, clean, comfy room.
Breakfast was great. I didn?t have dinner at the hotel as ate out lunch times. Great communication before and during my stay. Can?t recommend it highly enough for a stay in Swanage!

Set in an incredibly scenic location the bar and restaurants have a wonderful view of the ocean.
This is about where the magic ends.
The rooms (or room I had) was incredibly small, i think calling it a room is a stretch.
The staff are lovely, but the hotel is dated, dirty and the food is expensive and underwhelming. Breakfast was £14.99 and half of it was inedible, hash browns so greasy they were spat back out.
Was woken up at 7am to the wonderful noise of the scaffolders right under my window bolting bars together and chatting.
As you can see from the pics, the view is incredible, its a shame no one has cleaned the spider webs, dead flies and fly poo off the window sill.

We had the absolute pleasure of having our wedding at the Grand Hotel Swanage. All the staff are a credit to the fantastic General Manager Lindsey. They are all such wonderful individuals and nothing was too much trouble. We felt like royalty and we wouldn?t hesitate recommending this wonderful well run hotel to future guests. Thankyou very much!

Met friends for lunch there. Staff and food were very good. We sat iñ the sun ?ouge with a great view of the sea and the bay.

Update summer 2024:
Simply a great location with a fantastic view in a relaxed (slightly nostalgic) atmosphere;
We only had drinks at the bar (or in the garden), but we always like to come back - even if the prices are now quite high...
Nice like every time for having a drink and enjoying the perfect garden in a nostalgic atmosphere with a wonderful view in the swanage bay!
