Such a lovely clean, beautiful pub with gorgeous food and great service. We visited 3 times whilst on our holiday and took our friends with us when they visited. Thank you for giving us the most beautiful home cooked food, we were sad to go home but will see you next year! Please advertise at South Lytchett Caravan Park as other pubs do as so many people are missing out on a great dining experience ?

It?s become a bit of a challenge for us we have tried every roast from Bournemouth to Dorchester every Sunday looking for the best but never tried our local village as the chances of ur local being the best would be slim right ?. Well today we ate our words ! The best carvery we?ve had and we have tried them all ! Great job all the staff should be so proud of chequers becasue everything was on point ! And they have carvery on Wednesday to ! See u then amazing job thanks so much

We came for dinner, and felt so welcome we booked again for tomorrow!
The staff were faultless, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The setting and atmosphere were very welcoming and homely. Food was top-notch! A lovely menu with something for everyone. I can't wait to go back!

On arrival we were met by the lady my partner had spoken to earlier regarding our queries. She had menus ready for us & advised us where we could sit with our dog. The setting was lovely, the plants looked fantastic. We enjoyed our drinks & whilst waiting for our food order. I ordered half a roast chicken with chips, coleslaw & corn on the cob.
The corn on the cob arrived stone cold.
My partner reported this to the bar lady & it was then changed for a hot one.
The coleslaw was awful, not what I?d expect a coleslaw to be. The red cabbage was soft & I couldn?t see or taste any other ingredients in it. So disappointing. The front of house staff were excellent in dealing with this, in particular Ellie.
We chose the Chequers Inn because of the good ratings on Trip Advisor, but for the price we paid, the food was frankly disappointing.

We used to go this pub when the last owners had it , food and drinks were very good. Now it has gone downhill , the attitude of the arrogant young manager, who clearly has no experience in F&B and no customer relationship skills. Food very below par, beer terrible , sent it back and changed for another beer , was charged for the beer we sent back , challenged it and the server said that the manger said we have to charge for it , maybe he was trying to make up for the losses he incurred from the table next to us who sent their steak back saying it was too chewy and the steak was removed from the bill.
You need local customers, we will not return, good luck

Was there for a funeral?. But a clean well run establishment (managed house) Had a great setting, plenty of parking spaces. Nice local pub.

Went in for a family meal last Friday night, did not disappoint! Service was excellent, seen to straight away at the bar and our waitress Antonia was lovely and welcoming... portions were a great size and all the food was delicious! My boy loved the kids meal and ice cream! Highly recommend, we will be back!

Great food, great prices, portions are a decent size, friendly staff ?that care about their customers? recent refurb has been tastefully done, ?Ryan? was the man that served all of our family at lunch time on the 30th of June, faultless performance i have to say, very professional taking care of us! He even asked ?Chef? if we could alter the Ice Creams that came with the most amazing fruit crumble, best i?ve ever tasted! He?ll remember us!, look forward to returning soon! JB.

Unfortunately very disappointed. Had to wait to be seated even though there were very few people in the pub. Waited half an hour for a starter. Then when the mains came my burger was still pink. The poor person serving was trying their best. Made all the worst that this was a meal to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary ?
