Never disappoints! Hits the spot every time! Outstanding choice, value, food, location, service and atmosphere. Food is incredible. This is a very very special place. You can feel it as soon as you walk in. There is no other restaurant like it. My absolute favourite in the whole of the UK.

Fantastic varied menu, incredible wine list, beautiful setting and amazing staff.
The food was sensational and every member of staff was so friendly, attentive and professional. Highly recommend this lovely place.

We booked a table, online, suitable for two of us with our little dog. Upon arrival we were warmly greeting and directed to a lovely seating area beside the cafe. It was heated, nicly lit and a pleasant level of music playing summer reggae vibes. It was a wi dy day but we were sheltered and comfortable. Table service arrived quickly to take our drinks order. Offering in addition, chilled tap water and a water bowl for the dog. I'm not a massive fish fan, so I ordered the Fish bahjis. Delicious ! My husband has the John Dory Fillets on a ceasers salad which he enjoyed very much. In addition, we were presented with complementary nibbles, warm bread with balsamic/olive oil dip, whilst we waited for the main courses. The cafe was quite busy with couples, families and a few walkers. All together a very satisfying experience. We recommend a visit ?

Great sea food (wish we'd ordered more oysters) with a nice setting. Crab was delicious, enjoyed the bucket with it. Staff were very friendly, hope to return.

A bit unprepossessing approaching the restaurant initially, once inside this place is a little gem.
They provide a mindbogglingly wide choice of delicious fish and shellfish dishes beautifully cooked and presented.l highly recommend the scallops and the Monkfish stroganoff. Side dishes conplimented the food well.. samphire was popular.
Options of chicken or steak dishes were available for those who dislike seafood.
Only one person of a large group was a slightly disappointed, saying that the octopus carrapacio starter dish (upgraded to a mains dish) was somewhat overwhelmed by the bulk of the potato salad element and the raw chopped red onion flavour &it needed a bit more octopus to balance those.
Extremely helpful staff catered for this large party on a hot & busy day with several people requiring extreme caution with food allergies (incl shellfish,poultry & chocolate) or Coeliac Disease who need totally gluten free food and avoidance of cross contamination).
We sat outside, a much larger dining area than inside, on the wooden benches looking out across the sea inlet to Portland's huge pebbled strand under the Marquee shade on a beautifully sunny day. Garden armchairs were provided for several elderly or frail persons.
Other bench tables beyond have palm umbrellas for shade.
Children were welcome.
Pricing was as expected for quality seafood dishes...not cheap but fair value.
They kindly accommodated our privately bought birthday cake and table decorations, bringing the cake to the table sliced and with lit candles at the end of the meal.
Toilets were clean.
There's a good sized car park out front but you may have to park further down the cul de sac lane leading to the restaurant when it's busy.

Wonderful restaurant, amazing crab! You?ll need to break the crab yourself though - but that?s the fun part. You?ll get so much crab for your money. Can?t wait to go back. Starters were also incredible. Staff were so lovely and friendly . Dogs accepted - they have a separate seating area .

Revisited July 2025, our second visit sadly delayed due to the pandemic, and as we are not local. Great to see it's busy but not noisy and we were easily able to hold a conversation. We're a party of 3 and enjoyed oysters with cream and bacon, fish bhaji, lobster, megrem sole, and a child's fish and chips. All outstanding, beautifully cooked and presented. Service from the team was excellent with a friendly welcome. Really good price per person for such an amazing meal. Hoping it'll be a shorter time between now and the next visit.

Booking required for lunch on a Wednesday. So were recommended their sister restaurant Billy Winters which was disappointing.

Easy going, supremely fresh food. The crab is exceptional, as are the oysters. Non-pretentious environment suitable for family and friends right by the sea. Booking essential at the weekends for good reason. Can?t wait to head back.
