Would definitely recommend booking a camping trip here or even visiting the pub for some food and drink!?

Great Glamping, Bell tents roomy, sleeping 4, facilities clean. Had Sunday lunch in the pub and it was delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Buckland Newton, this lovely pub with loads of parking and lots of outside seating for those nice days is worth a visit. Loads for kids to do, including a double decker bus to explore.

Excellent family pub! We came in for dinner whilst staying in the area. Staff, and regulars & pub dog welcoming & friendly. The outside area is huge, with play areas for children. Food was delicious. Nothing negative at all!

We had our wedding here - Simon and Sarah were amazing, the staff did a brilliant job keeping everything going smoothly, including and even particularly when we started getting overwhelmed. The day still feels like a dream and all our guests agree the venue was perfect for our cottagecore (and Hobbitish!) theme. Highly recommend for events, a nice meal out or a weekend camping ?

I had the most wonderful time at the Gaggle of Geese and can?t recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, I was charmed by the quaint, cozy interior that felt like a warm hug. But the real magic was outside in their stunning garden areas?absolutely beautiful, with vibrant flowers and open spaces that instantly put you at ease. The highlight for my niece and nephew was the double-decker soft play area they could climb around in; it was such a unique and fun touch that kept them entertained for ages!The Gaggle of Geese is a gem, offering a fantastic variety of food that catered perfectly to our group?s tastes, from hearty pub classics to lighter bites. They even hosted a lively party while we were there and somehow balanced that with running archery lessons across the grounds?what a cool addition! I didn?t stay the night, unfortunately, but they offer glamping that looks like an absolute dream, and I fully intend to come back for that experience to soak in the peaceful countryside vibe.The staff were beyond kind and accommodating, going out of their way to make us feel welcome. My only small critique is that, as someone with a disability, I found the three steps into the pub a bit tricky to navigate. It felt a little exposing, even though the staff were incredibly helpful and supportive. I?m not sure if it?s possible, but a disabled access ramp, perhaps from the garden, would make such a difference for folks like me.That aside, this place is pure joy. I left with the biggest smile and memories I?ll cherish. If you?re looking for a spot that?s equal parts charming, fun, and welcoming, the Gaggle of Geese is a must-visit!

This is a great pub, with a warm welcome, good food and beer and an excellent campsite ?out the back? where we spent three happy nights this year. Wonderful.

Booked evening meal for the first day of our break away. Sunday roasts were excellent. We loved eating outside in the evening sun. Booked another meal there for later in the week as it was so lovely!

Loved the various boxes of flat cider they had! Beer garden was wonderful, however? we ordered nuts with out pints and within 30 mins I was stuck on the toilet, upon inspection the nuts went out of date in March!! The owner seemed to know, yet a full price was charged and no warning offered! Looks like an evening on the loo is pending, only real thing that let the place down! No real remorse felt when I informed the owner/manager.

This is one truly magical place that I would have no hesitation in recommending.
We had our wedding here on 19/07/2025 and it was absolutely AMAZING!! Simon,Sarah, Fiona, Max and their whole team are so professional, so kind and have been an absolutely dream to deal with over the last 18 months.
The Gaggle will have a special place in our hearts forever. Our friends and family have already asked if we will make our wedding an annual bash!!
We already want to return for more delish food, wonderful drinks and truly amazing hospitality.
Thank you SO much for helping us to create a wedding of dreams.

Really incredible pork Sunday roast! The staff were friendly but a bit underwater. Only issue was the noise. Lots of bouncing and echoing conversations but overall top notch place to stop!

We first visited the Gaggle of Geese four years ago on a camping trip and instantly fell in love with the place. My now husband and I both said that if we ever got married, it would be there. Three years later, he proposed, and we returned to stay in the Birdie Shepherd?s Hut to see if it still felt right. Within 10 minutes, we knew it was the one.
We booked our date and were over the moon. Simon and Sarah were incredible throughout the whole process. Their communication was amazing, and they gave us so many helpful ideas from the seating plan to how to structure the day.
On the wedding day, while I was getting ready, Sarah and her team were busy setting everything up. I hadn?t expected them to be so hands-on and supportive. Simon helped us choose the food, which everyone said was delicious. The whole experience felt effortless and took so much pressure off.
They also worked with us to stay within our budget, which really helped. So many of our guests said it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to, and we truly owe that to the Gaggle of Geese. We now have a special place to return to for our anniversaries. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding. Thank you so much Simon and Sarah, we will definitely be back soon!
