If you like old style spit & sawdust pubs (like I do) this is the place to go. Good service, staff were really friendly. Prices very reasonable, we just drank, no food. Toilets could do with some attention (air freshener at least) Dog friendly, the furry kind. On the whole, an interesting place to spend a couple of hours.

Well we went into the Volunteer inn they are very friendly and helpful. We spoke to owners, and found that are the 3rd generation, own it. The food is very good. The people that go in there are very helpful, the bar is not to big.so asked if there is another room which you sit down and have your food and drinks.

Said this before and I'll say it again. One of the last proper boozers in Lyme. Where you don't feel you're in the way if you just want a drink.

Feel bit sad for this pub. Last managers made threats when i said I almost banged on door when they were 15mins late opening.i was joking. He defo wasn't. I never went back in there.
now new manager accused me of being rude and nasty , for saying I might come back in now other managers have left. Im still struggling to understand what was rude or nasty in my comment, they obviously dont need my business and luckily there are lots of NICE WELCOMING PUBS in lyme regis that give great customer service ..
