“We stayed in a chalet in a block which was slightly away from the caravans. It was fairly quiet and had lots of parking directly outside. The best parts were that the chalet was a good size for 2 people. The beds were comfortable and the beds and linen were clean and fresh. It looked stylish and neat. There was plenty of space for baggage and clothes. The shop and facilities were decent BUT you had to book and pay extra to use the pool!! Now, when you pay nearly £500 to stay somewhere, this is out of order. We went to Newlands because it had a pool and I intended to use it twice daily, but I did not swim once because I was so upset by this. We were expecting a certain standard of homeliness from the chalet, but felt that it was a bit lacking: The kitchenette was really small, and we wanted to cook daily, but found it a very tight space. The sofa was really uncomfortable. There were no bedside lights and you had to get up to turn off the lights. No curtains, but there was a roller blind: The light well directly above the double bed could not be covered over. Overall, it was OK, it looked nice and the shower was hot and the bathroom was clean and tidy. It was modern and neat. It was nice that there was a separate little bedroom for privacy. If i stayed in the chalet again, I'd take an eye mask to keep the light out and a bedside light. If you want to swim it'll cost extra and you'll have to book in advance, for that reason alone, I probably won't be going back.”
