Disgusting service from an elderly lady in here. My daughter was rudely approached by the old hag, and told not to eat her sausage roll in the restaurant as she isn?t a customer. I explained that I was going to be eating and buying drinks. We didn?t even have the time to find a seat, as my daughter was collared by her half way in.
Now I totally respect that places don?t want you eating food from other eateries. But her manner and approach was completely aggressive, and to approach an 11 year child. I explained that if there is an issue to then speak with me, the parent.
Totally rude and ill mannered, and the rest of the staff had an awful attitude.
I?ve eaten here before and food has always been mediocre. Just cheap and cheerful. The service is just appalling.

We've been here a number of times. The last time we went we arrived 10 minutes before they stop taking orders on Sunday, 40 mins before closing, the member of staff who greeted us begrudgingly clearly didn't want to serve us, in hindsight I feel she should have told us they were closed. We were made to feel like it was a real inconvience being there. The food was good enough, but they obviously have no idea what gluten is so my wife just had chips. Won't be bothering to return.
Dietary restrictions: If you have any dietary restrictions, I wouldn't bother.

Fantastic place. I've been here first time today and loved it a lot. Lovely coffee and amazing breakfast. Huge portion and small price which is rarely seen around the town. Cute decorations and nice old style. Can't wait to be back there again. Really surprised of bad reviews as the staff was nice and their instructions of not cooking after 2pm or different rules are absolutely fine. People tend to avoid reading and then they have objections over the place or they visit for 5 years and everything is fine and when once something bad happen they leave bad review. So if for 5 years everything is totally great and once the day is worse is it fair to leave a bad review? Don't think so. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it. Nice to see a small business still running when there is plenty of haters around.

I have visited this cafe a number of times in the last 5 years - but I definitely won't be going back.
With my teenage grandchildren we popped in at 1.45pm on a Wednesday afternoon (end of July) for a drink and maybe a light snack.
It was fairly busy so we approached the counter only to hear the chef say "tell them to hurry up. I'm not cooking after 2pm".
So, we had a look at the snacks on offer, which didn't look very appetising (stale looking cupcakes, cereal bars and crisps), so we decided we would just have a drink instead.
As I began asking the kids what they wanted to order, another 2 people approached the counter, and again the chef snapped, " I am NOT cooking after 2 o'clock."
The woman behind the counter was obviously very stressed and snapped at both my family and the two people behind us "If you want food can you hurry up? Chef wants to get off work on time ". No please, no thank you. Just abrupt.
With that I told her we would go somewhere else, as did the elderly couple behind us. She and the chef then began bickering about us all leaving.
Normally, the service in there is brilliant - polite and friendly staff, food cooked to perfection and they continually ask if everything it alright and offer to bring your drinks or food to the table.
I don't know what has happened since my previous visit around 6 months ago, but my goodness I shall not go back again to be treated so badly.
I will always use independent cafes where possible, but next time I'm in Dorchester, I think I shall go to Costa. At least I know to expect shoddy service in there!

I never wish to give a poor review for any local business but unfortunately we?ve had a really bad experience here today, the staff were rude, the full English was cheaply made and poorly cooked paying nearly £20 in total for two breakfasts.
I wouldn?t wish anyone else to have the disappointment of parting with their hard earned money here.

Service poor, order at the till, but service very slow. Server clearly didn?t want to be there or serving anyone. While I was waiting so long, perused the row of greasy deep fat fryers behind the counter, and read the passive-aggressive signs everywhere! Somebody asked to use the loo, and the waitress took out a key to unlock the chain across the door!
Food was okay when it came, and was cooked quicker than the till server took to make two coffees.

Quite rude staff, felt like I was putting them out asking for food. Food was awful. Cheapest possible ingredients. Stale buns, burgers cooked from frozen, undercooked jackets, bland sausage sandwiches and an absolutely stinking mop bucket left next to the tables. Shouldve gone home, had a cheese sandwich and saved myself over 50 quid

Where do i start? the staff are some of the rudest people i?ve ever met and shouted at my poor 4 year old for being too ?loud? we had sat somewhere at the back away from people so no one around and his eyes filled up with tears as he was so embarrassed. I have never been to a place with the most disgusting miserable lazy and damn right rude people in my life. Will never return and this is a family run restaurant. one consistent thing is they all look like they?ve been chewing on sour lemons and wouldn?t know customer service if it smacked them round the chops which is safe to say they deserved after embarrassing and belittling a tiny child. I wish i could put into words how much i regret entering this run down cafe that day simply for the memory i have of seeing my little boys face. wish could give under 1 star but that?s lowest i can give. Plus, the food doesn?t make up for it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My son and I had a breakfast here and there were more baked beans and enough saute potato for 4 people on the one plate, the sausages were cheap and mushy, the telephone was in middle of eating area, and the staff just shouted at top of there voices to each other..for example..MUM CAN I GO AND HAVE A FAG...Not enough room to sit and eat as the seat are fixed to close to the table..I will not be visiting that place again..
