I wanted to buy a bottle of water, I'm a type 2 diabetic and as I was walking to the till I had a sip of the water(I needed a drink asap) I approached the tills to see 2 card self service tills open and a very rude member of staff talking to a woman from security, I asked if he was serving as I only had cash, he said no, so I explained I'm a diabetic and had a sip of the water, I know I shouldn't of but like I said I needed it, he was more interested in having a go at me and making me feel and look like a naughty child than popping on the till and serve me! He then told me I could give him the right money for it and promptly told me to go the the bar and get some change and carried on chatting to the other member of staff! I went and got the change and gave him £2 which he told me was the cost! Where he put the money I gave him i don't know but it would be out of order if he went and put it in the till as he could of served me!
I found him extremely rude and unhelpfully
I really don't know why he wouldn't serve me? I guess his conversation with the other member of staff was more important

Apart from absent staff most of the time & huge crates refilling the shelves which are more important than humans having clear access, WH Smith here at least provides essentials & more. Sarnies, sweets, chocolate, crisps, brightly coloured drinks (& water), good book & magazine selection, travelling essentials like adapters, chargers, stationary including cards, small toiletries, essential meds, Uno & the odd (keep the child quiet small toys), it could again be just soo much better, a better experience for customers plus Easter is in your face at the very beginning of January!!

Probably the rudest man working here i have ever met no wonder it's going pete tong with staff like this. I heard him tell one customer that he'd charge her £500.00 for cigarette's if he had his way ! Then it was my turn ,i won't give him the credit of saying he served me far from it .he moaned at me when I said I was paying cash he moaned and said I will only be able to buy something by card soon...... very wrong I'm never buying anything in smiths again cash or not

Huge thanks to John at WHSmith?he went above and beyond to help me out! Super patient, checked everything thoroughly, and didn?t give up until he found what I needed. He even suggested other options and was just generally really friendly and helpful. Proper great customer service?really appreciate it!

Brought a can of energy drink and went through the self service machine as no member of staff nearby and it asked for ID, I waited for about 2 minutes and said it needed approval "I know" she said with a grunt she then said "click pay then" before she approved it and she was so rude to my mate aswell who was next too me. Safe to say with appaling attitude this woman has, I will not be coming back to this WHSmith on my way abroad at Bournemouth Airport. Think she needs another job somewhere else. Absolutely vile behaviour.

Overpriced and able to get away with it due to no competition

How is WH smiths still open at the airport? Couldn't access one side of the store due to so many cages blocking access, some bloke in a high-vis jacket chucking sandwiches around and wiping down the front of the fridge, he wouldnt even move, drinks more or less empty and some really rude women called "Angela" groaning when the self service checkout said we needed approval for an energy drink. And yes groaned!! This was at half 8 in the morning on Tuesday 27th August, the shop was a tip and before we bored looked like the manger came out and thought it was all a joke making silly remarks, maybe she should get her hands dirty and sort the shop out!!!

Incredibly rude and obnoxious staff member working there this morning

Tried to buy a pack of sweets. Neither self check scanner would accept them. When I asked the staff for assistance he said the till was closed as he was stacking sandwiches. I ended up leaving disappointed and sweetless. I have had the misfortune of using a number of airport Smiths and have found them all very unhelpful. I would generally recommend using any available alternative. The bright side is that while I was fighting with the the self scan a young girl (customer) came up and tried to help so thank you to her.

WH Smith at Bournemouth airport at 16.20 on Tuesday 24th October 2023Man with grey hair should not be serving the public and even the woman behind me said what an obnoxious, rude man he was. He was near the counter and I asked if anyone was serving and he said NO!. I waited to see if anyone else appeared and then he came behind the counter and served :-(When I queried the price on shelf when he charged me £1.99 (it was listed as less on the shelf) he said the price had changed recently and I was lucky as he could have charged me £2.49I paid using cash and realised afterwards that he didn't even give me a receipt which was rather concerning. He doesn't deserve a job and definitely needs his customer service skills updating. I will not be using that shop in the airport again and neither will the lady who was standing behind me. You have lost at least 2 customers that you know about and probably more because of his attitude.

On Monday the 19th, I flew from Bournemouth to Alicante with the 7:15 AM flight, I went into the store to buy a sandwich and take some souvenirs. The lady who was working was very miserable, she did not answer my greeting, I asked her for help since I did not know how to make the self-payment, but she limited herself to shouting directions from afar, my English is not very good, so I didn't understand anything, it was another client who helped me. I think the lady was not in a very good mood at that time. Disappointing.
