Dear Pets at Home,I am writing this review to express my disappointment with the service I received from your establishment on December 30th, 2023. I had booked both of my dogs for a wash and blow dry at 9am, but when I arrived, I was informed that one of them would be groomed at 11 am. I was told that I had been emailed the times in my booking confirmation and that the mistake was mine. However, this is incorrect as the confirmation email clearly states that both dogs were to be groomed at 9 am with no mention of 11.I was further disappointed when I requested that my nervous dog be groomed first and picked up as soon as she was done, but was told that this was not possible due to another client?s appointment at 10am. I was informed that it would only take 45 minutes to finish my dog. I got a phone call saying she was done at 9.43 and I didn't leave her until 9.10 (I would have left even sooner had the groomer not be so argumentative) It took just 33 mins for a wash, brush and blow dry on a nervous poodle!I find it unacceptable that your establishment would prioritize another client over the well-being of my dog. Leaving my nervous dog for such a long period of time (in excess of 3H) is too much stress on her. This is my first time using the Groom Room in Christchurch, and the staff are far less understanding and friendly than other pets at home's I've used before. There was no apology from the Groom Room despite me showing her my confirmation email and her requesting taking a photo for her records, confirming they were the ones in the wrong. Poor attitude from the Groom room and not at all up to the usual friendly staff I'm used to from pets at home around the country. The manager even seemed a little scared of this ogre like woman in the Groom Room. She gets a zero star from me, has a poor attitude, and a lack of consideration for my dog despite there being a 17 min gap between appointments, ample time for collection!I also wasn't offered any extras, which is standard Groom Room up-selling Policy.

We recently lost our little dog Lucy and the vets and all of the staff were absolutely brilliant couldn't wish for a better service and so much care .thank you happy Christmas ? xx

Such a lovely store with cute small pets, a wide selection of pet food, clothes and toys, vet service at the back. All stuff is very friendly and helpful!
