Lovely spot in the middle of the cutest village. There is nothing not to like (excuse the double negative).

Gorgeous pub for a smart night/lunch out. Beautiful environment, welcoming staff and, the three times we have eaten her, the food has been top notch. They really care about the provenance of their food and, although a little pricy, it is certainly reflected in the quality of ingredients and execution of every dish.Log fire in the winter, sheltered sunny garden in the summer. What more could you ask for?Food & drinks: Super selection, fresh, carefully picked and well delivered. Good wines and fresh beers.

Afternoon tea, a new venture for the New Inn, is highly recommended. A glass of prosecco to start followed by finger sandwiches and wonderful cakes. Pana Cotta, lemon meringue, eclair, fudge, truffles and not forgetting fruit scones with jam and cream. Plentiful supply of tea/coffee. Looking forward to the next one

Really enjoyed the visit. Went for a meal and the food was good if a bit pricey. Great environment and friendly staff. Would definitely go back.

I have enjoyed many meals at The New Inn but todays heights reached a new level. The roast beef was simply faultless. As was everything that accompanied it. There are however people out there who dislike garlic. My guest and I have eaten all over the world and would possibly if pushed eat garlic as a main course. We both noticed that the sirloin had possibly been rubbed with some garlic or had some garlic salt sprinkled on it prior to cooking. Absolutely no problem to ourselves but possibly something to ask about if you dislike it. My only slight gripe is the price of wine by the glass. £9.70 for a large glass of Malbec is a tad pricey and add the service charge brings it to nearly £11.00 for a single glass. Wine prices in pubs has long been a gripe of mine. Having personally won wine pub of the year by the Good Pub Guide more years ago than I prefer to remember it is simply something that annoys me.

Came here to see the chalk Giant Man. Walked through the village, loved the age of the place and how nothing has been changed. We arrived at the New Inn walked in and immediately felt relaxed. Shown to a table and ordered drinks, looked over the menu and ordered sandwiches. Please be advised these are very very large, tasty and delicious. A return will certainly be on the to do list.

As we didn't stay in the rooms it's not possible to score them. We found this delightful pub when looking for a quick bite of lunch and we're certainly NOT disappointed ?A very hospitable host behind the bar welcomed us warmly and seated us immediately. He offered a range of drinks and I enjoyed a really tasty ginger beer.As we'd eaten a cooked breakfast we didn't need a large meal, so our hostess was happy to recommend starters as a light option.A platter of charcuterie served with warmed mini breads, Olives, Gherkins, sun dried tomatoes and dipping oil arrived speedily along with a delicious rocket and radish salad. Our other choice was warm camembert with crisp garlic atop, again served with mini breads and a gorgeous chutney. All these served efficiently by the lady in charge, who evidently knew her foods as we could have chosen from additional 'specials' too!Other diners seemed equally happy with their meals lending to the warm friendly atmosphere. Before leaving my husband enjoyed an espresso from their splendid looking machine and declared it excellent ?If we'd been staying longer we would've returned to enjoy more from the menu.Keep up the good work and Thanks ?
