So we walk in at 12.30 on a Friday. Empty bar one table. Any chance of a ploughman?s and a beer? No - we?ve got people coming in 20mins. Please cut me a piece of cheese! No chance. So we walk out and they are £30 lighter - and people wonder why englands pubs are going to the wall.

Skittles! Yummy food and local ale. The sort of place you'd show off to visitors as a quintessential example of an English village pub

Didn't go into this inn but looked very old, quaint plus you could read the history of the Cerne Giant. Beautiful village of Cerne Abbas.

We booked to go for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and hot. Vegetables cooked to perfection. Cosy setting and quiet atmosphere even though fairly busy which we like. Staff friendly and attentive. Recommend.

Friendliest staff, tasty food and such a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting and also they have a great skittle room that is free to use. You must visit here before seeing the giant! Also the portions are generous.

A group of 4 of us came in today at lunchtime, including a very disabled gentleman who is in a supportive wheelchair.
Great choice of food and we all enjoyed it. Briony was serving behind the bar and bringing our food. She was so very helpful, friendly and attentive, we were really impressed.
We'll come again!
Wheelchair accessibility: Again Briony was very helpful getting the wheelchair over the small step entrance.
Maybe a ramp would help in future although we managed it with help.

Great choice of traditional pub lunches. All delivered with friendly service. Choice of 5 alcohol free beers so perfect for me. I picked the Erdinger one as isotonic so reinvigorating after a walk.

We visited on a weekday. We chose this pub over others in the village because of the reviews and because the food looked good value.
There was one bartender on quite a busy lunchtime. She was good humored and efficient, taking drink and food orders, and delivering the food to the tables.
We ordered our food and took drinks out to the garden at the back. Our food soon arrived despite being warned it might be a time.
Simple fare, but generous portions. I ordered ham, egg and chips. The ham was delicious, three thick slices cut from a ham leg. Not the normal plastic ham in a prepacked plastic container.
My partner had Nachos with a vegetarian chili. She enjoyed it.
After lunch we walked around the village and came back for another pint before leaving on the bus.
Good collection of beers including a local beer brewed in the village
The pub has music events as well.
