The food was great, the service was saved by the young man who was polite and listened to our main complaint. The pub was absolutely freezing to eat in, the radiators were not on and to watch people, including ourselves eating in their coats is absolutely mind-blowing. Yes there was a fire for the bar but the entire place was heated by a tiny plug in radiator. We asked if the heating was broken but was rudely told it was not and only on in the day...this was at lunch time on a Sunday. As a local I would not go back in the winter months at all. The manager lady was rude and the owner was unavailable upstairs. Such a shame to disrespect people spending a Sunday roast by not heating a restaurant in February.

Kid-friendliness: My austic daughter struggles in new places, but here she was calm and settled. Seemed very family friendly

Absolutely fabulous food and service at the ANCHOR INN BURTON BRADSTOCK, Dorset and 100% recommended. All the staff are friendly and attentive and only too pleased to help, the owner Paul is front of house and happy to provide advice on the food and drinks, he pays special attention to any vegan requirements and we love the fact it?s extremely dog friendly. The food is SUPERB. This time we had the starter prawns and I had the Pigeon and Black Pudding and it was cooked to perfection. The main of 10 oz Ribeye steak was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten, succulent and pink on the inside with a delicious chargrilled edge, accompanied with crushed herb new potatoes, giant juicy mushroom and grilled tomatoes. The Beef and Turf was similar with an 8oz Steak and butter Scallops. It would have been wrong not to have dessert, whisper this softly, OMG the Rhubarb and Rose hip Ripple Ice cream, just do it!! It?s totally on a new level. Rumour has it they do it as a cone to takeaway. We are only in Burton Bradstock for the week but have booked to eat at The Anchor Inn three times, it?s that great, just wish it was our local!! Cheers, roll on Monday night, Glen, Jo and Crumble our Apricot Cockapoo.

Great pub, great service and really excellent food.
This pub specialises in fish and it was all excellent. We were told the chef refuses to cook fillet steak or duck well done, a sign of a passionate person and the food they do cook was wonderful.
Atmosphere is only 4 stars because we booked very late and they had to put us in the overflow room on our own.

Popped in for a drink after walk on beach with dogs. Ended up eating, then went back at end of the week, was so nice.

The food was exceptional, prawn cocktail followed by the surf and turf for myself and my sister whilst her husband and my partner enjoyed the garlic mushrooms & seafood chowder to start and exceptional fillet steaks.
Staff were friendly and helpful, all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our evening, thank you

Came to your pub in a lovely area with a huge disappointment. Charging £7 for non alcoholic Guinness zero when at your local run of the mill pub it?s £3.50 . What a complete rip off.
