Lovely site will be going again next year short walks to the beach

This was our second visit to Seadown, mainly due to the location, being so close to the beach. The facilities on site were faultless with the shower block and associated facilities, spotless. However, I do question the ?pecking order? with regards to pitch allocation. I requested a hard standing pitch when we booked 6 months prior to our stay. When we arrived, we were allocated a grass standing pitch ,in, possibly the most congested row of pitches on the site. Hey ho, we can?t all get the plum pitches, but, there were hard standing pitches available at the time we checked in. When I asked at reception whether I had been allotted a hard standing pitch, the rather nice and bubbly lady responded with a friendly ? I am afraid not, but the grass standing pitch if nicely mown and is firm underfoot?. I accepted this, but then another person on reception interjected with, ?We are rammed out at the moment?. She gave me the impression that she was doing us a favour by letting us have a pitch at all ????. I understand from a conversation that I had with an ?old timer? that loyalty, in terms of having a friend of a friend who rents a static caravan is rewarded by the better pitches. Regardless of the location and the excellent facilities, we shall not be returning until the booking system either becomes a first come, first served basis or allocation of hard standing/ grass pitch, is confirmed at the time of booking.

First visit and would return, stayed in static, which was pet friendly and immaculate. Location excellent and the site well maintained and very peaceful. Only grumble unable to use parking spaces to our van, as mud bath.

Came to Seadown Holiday Park not really knowing what to expect, with our caravan. The words Holiday Park, kind of put us off. However, what a fabulous caravan park. There's quite a few statics for hiring too. We've spoken to a few people while we were here and they come back year after year. There's a pretty well stocked shop on site for your milk, bread, bacon etc, nice reception, extremely clean shower block and it's a stones throw from Charmouth beach. I can understand why people keep coming back

Nice place to stop. Onsite facilities are good, but toilets get busy in the mornings, Can walk straight to the beach to find fossils or visit the museum. There is a new sign up warning about swimming in the river char by the bridge where it exits into the sea, something about they cant guarantee water quality due to water running off the fields and sewage outlets so thats something to be aware of. There is no cafe or resturant on site but they do have street food vans that turn up, fish and chips, pizza on a wednesday etc. Or there are plenty of pubs within walking distance. I have been to the area for several holidays and will be visiting again.

Last year stayed in a static. This year stayed in our tourer. Staff are fantastic and very helpful. Facilities are lovely and clean. Small laundrette on site, which we used and was great, again lovely and clean. Weather wasnt brilliant, but we went to chill. The grounds are well kept, tended to every day. Highly recommended and will be returning next yearWalkability: Minutes from the beach

We love Seadown and stay here most years with our 3 fossil loving beach boys! We camp but my parents hire a caravan here which is always clean. The camping pitches are great and the site is well maintained. Toilet block is well laid out and clean. Showers are hot and not push button which is brilliant! It's a quiet calm campsite right next to the beach. Don't come here if you're looking for a noisy party stay! 2 lovely play fields for the kids to run around and play sport/fly kites. Shop onsite is well stocked with essentials. Visiting food pop ups are great. Great camp shop 5mins away for any repairs or supplies too. Tip: the seagulls are a royal pain here and will be in your tent with you if you're not careful! We'll be back!

Excellent family friendly site. The pitches are well spaced out and the whole site is spotlessly clean. We have been returning to this site for the six years with our two dogs. There is a nice walk down through the field to the beach which is open to dogs all year round. Oh and if you keep your eyes pealed you may even find a fossil or two.

A peaceful and very well maintained site right next to Charmouth beach. We camp and my parents rent a static caravan. Pitches are in great condition and most are lovely and spacious. Toilet block is clean and well maintained. Showers are nice and hot. If you're after a club house or party site, this is not for you. If, like us though you appreciate the peace by the sea, it's great. Shop onsite well stocked. Great camp equipment shop nearby too. Visiting food vans 4 X week which were lovely. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's a shame one family allowed their kids to throw water balloons all over the site without picking up the plastic litter left behind. The staff work so hard at trying to keep the site spotless and beautiful. There is a great big play field for sports, a river walk and another field to access the beach so plenty of space for kids to run without them running through others pitches. You can hear the sea, the owls and cows. The seagulls will be in your tent though if you're not careful! Easy walk to the beach. We'll be back! Thank you!

Have been coming here the last 10 years..our 2nd time this year. Just love the place. Both myself and my partner have stressful jobs so come here to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility. Site is spotless, great location next to the sea and staff are friendly. We bring our Dog who loves it as much as we do..a wonderful place for dogs and I'd say young children. If you're after a club house, entertainment etc then it's not the place for you but if you want to unwind in beautiful surroundings then it's a must and I can't wait to return

Lovely caravan on attractive park in stunning location. Friendly reception in well equipped shop. Great idea having visiting meal providers. We enjoyed fish and chips from the van which visits on Tuesdays. The pizza van smelled good too but we had eaten out that day. Charmouth is a pretty village with plenty of Dorset and Devon attractions nearby.
