I went to Livingstones yesterday and found such unbelievably helpful service. They showed extreme patience with me as I wasn't sure what I wanted. It was just like shopping used to be, individual attention and service for an elderly lady.

Bought a small amount of fabric for piping recently, but the one I'd chosen was out of stock. They called me up to tell me, and found another fabric of a similar colour match at a cheaper price. Very happy, as the new fabric is absolutely fine for my purposes. A larger company would never take the time and effort to find an alternative fabric, highly recommend supporting this business.

Thank you to the wonderful team at Livingstone's! Your help has been faultless (yet again!) as I embark on my latest project to upholster my own bed headboard. From the full instructions on how to template for the foam to be cut (as there was no way I could take the frame into the shop!); advice on how best to manage it to supplying all materials that I need. These kind people have worked with me to recover lampshades, making my first roman blinds and now this one. Livingstone's is a one-stop-bazaar, full of colour, ideas and fabulous materials. A lovely day out for me to travel to Bridport and return home, full of enthusiasm and laden with kit to get started. Thank you again.

Not once on their website do they say they only cut foam on a Monday, what a waste of a journey.
Now ordering online when we wanted to use a small business what a shame.

Wonderful shop. Fabulous range of quality fabrics for dress making and home furnishings.Also a lovely selection of knitting/ crochet yarns. Trimmings buttons and upholstery supplies too. Not to mention very helpful staff all with great sewing skills and lots of patience. You will often find a bargain too
