Had a fantastic stay, from the moment we booked in the staff were amazing. So warm and friendly. The room was gorgeous with a lovely view. The breakfast choices were very good and the room has all the facilities you could need. My favourite part was the pool! Highly recommend.

Lovely independent hotel with clean comfortable rooms and friendly, welcoming staff. Good location, being situated between Charmouth & Lyme Regis. Have no hesitation in recommending.

A perfect base for the beaches of Lyme Regis and Charmouth, but much more than that. We had booked 5 days in a smaller room. The building can best be described as an old villa with style and comfort. On the ground floor there is a beautiful dining room, a bar and a drawing room. That dining room (photo) is important because you can enjoy a truly perfect breakfast and dinner there. Our room was spacious enough. Bathroom a bit narrow but functional. Excellent beds. If you want the space, go for a large room. Then you actually have a suite. There is always staff and Jo does everything she can to make your stay comfortable. We will definitely come back here.

Stayed for 3 nights. The hotel was lovely and peaceful. The rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable. The food was amazing. The pool was lovely and clean and refreshing after a day of fossil hunting. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend staying at Fernhill.

Our third stay here, this time for 5 days with the family. Excellent food, with plenty of choice. Jo, Rob and all the staff are amazing and so helpful. Rooms are very comfortable and well thought out. Perfect location between Charmouth and Lyme Regis.

We recently spent three very enjoyable nights here. The Fernhill Hotel is elegant and well organised in a quiet location. We had a spacious bedroom overlooking the pool and woods with a super comfy bed.
We enjoyed breakfast and dinner in the hotel dining room where delightful Cody looked after us very well.
The location is lovely but nowhere was really walkable for us as we found the woodland walk in to Charmouth very uneven and a bit tricky. No doubt a younger couple would be fine. However we had nice trips to the surrounding towns.
All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.Thank you Jo and your team.

We stayed for 5 nights at the beginning of June 2024. Excellent experience from Jo & Rob the proprietors who were very much hands-on, nothing was too much trouble for them. Great location if you want somewhere quiet 2 miles from Lyme Regis. We booked an en suite Spa King room which was very comfortable and spotlessly clean as was all the hotel. Plentiful hot and cold breakfast and dinner were served at our allocated table in the dining room. We don't usually write reviews because normally you get what you pay for, but this is different.
Rooms: Spacious and comfortable.

We have had the pleasure of staying at the delightful Fernhill Hotel near Charmouth several times and we would rate it as outstanding in every respect. There is always a warm welcome on arrival. The extensive menu choices are delicious with high quality ingredients and plenty of options for those with special dietary requirements. The rooms, some of which enjoy wonderful countryside views are superbly appointed, very relaxing and extremely comfortable. We are always looking forward to our next visit from the moment we leave.

Lovely quiet Hotel with great service and warm welcome from the hosts Bar area was great for pre dinner drinksRestaurant food was delicious and well presented but could have been more varied for vegans so we ate elsewhere a couple of nightsPersonally found the non servicing of rooms a chore and when I?m on vacation not sure I want the hassle of that as I just want to be looked after not do it myselfOnly real downside was the pool area that wasn?t that well kept and needed some serious TLC The pool described as heated was only just so myself and other guests found it very bracing to get in although many did more than me Heated to me means a tepid bath at least not a omg when you get in temperature!

A wonderful homely hotel which excels in providing comfort and privacy. Rob, Jo and staff were cheerful and courteous and went out of their way to ensure a relaxed stay.Rooms: We stayed in a luxury room which was en-suite spacious and comfortable. It overlooked the swimming pool and could have done with a net curtain or some other means of restricting the view into the roomWalkability: Moderate walk into Charmouth although the hill on the return was challenging for us septuagenariansFood & drinks: Food was outstanding, served by cheerful staff and in a large room which easily handled the number of guests. This allowed for comfortable eating on their own tables.Noteworthy details: Bus stop outside of the hotel meant easy travel into and out of Charmouth, Lyme Regis and beyond. We never used the car during our stay.

Another perfect holiday at Fernhill Hotel.We last stayed before Covid, we decided to stay for a week this time and were not disappointed. We were spoiled by the delicious food and relaxing atmosphere. Nothing is to much trouble, pure comfort and relaxation. The Hotel is in a great location to explore the coast. We hope to return again soon. Highly recommended.

We found this a really great hotel outside Lyme Regis.We stayed 2 nights, the room was very comfortable and the food was excellent. We had a dinner and breakfast in both days. They were delicious, well served and the quantities were very good.The bar was also very good and the outdoor pool was a bonus.This is a very differently managed hotel compared to many hotels these days, the customer service is second to none - a breath of fresh air and the price was reasonable.We had a lovely stay.
