Not too happy. I took my car in with a constant squealing noise which had stopped when I got there (he said it was probably because it was wet). They kept it over night to see what the problem was. I was told it was down to 2 belts that needed replacing so I agreed to go ahead with the work for £230!! (The belts were around £70 - the rest was labour). It was in the whole of the next day.The noise came back very quickly so I took it back. He said that it wasn?t the belts after all , it?s the water pump but he?ll keep it over night and look at it. It took pretty much all day the next day for me to be told it?ll cost me another £190 to replace and that?s with a discount bearing in mind the work they?d already done! I couldn?t afford another £200 so I took it home. He couldn?t have cared less.I was told that they couldn?t have known what the problem was because it wasn?t making the noise at the time of repair which I didn?t know. I didn?t think it would have been ?repaired? without hearing the noise!!Unfortunately I have a friend who had a very similar experience too. Gutted.

I wish I checked the reviews before I asked for a diagnosis. I took my car in for a diagnosis check but the owner wanted me to keep the car there and he would call me later on. He called me back 3 hours later and tried to encourage me to keep the car with him for a few weeks as he knew exactly how to deal with it. I declined and when I went to pick it up he was very sheepish and advised me not to take it very far. It cost me £90 for the check for which I didn?t get a receipt and the car sounded much worse afterwards.A right rip off merchant!

I am writing this review to share my experience with Central Motors and provide some feedback. The vehicle I had repaired here was a PEUGEOT EXPERT 1.6 HDI 2018, which initially had an overheating issue under load or in high gear.I engaged in a phone call with one of Paul Butt's colleagues who assured me they could repair the vehicle. However, after 2 days, they informed me that the sensor needed replacing, originally quoting £300 but later amending it to £450. I waited a week for the part to arrive.Following the sensor change, I was told that the ECU had a fault, and the repair cost escalated to £599. They mentioned sending the ECU to a specialist company called "Allparts ECU" in Essex, which I couldn't verify after extensive research. It took four weeks, numerous phone calls, and face-to-face meetings to receive the ECU back without proof of work done.Upon fitting the ECU, I was informed the engine might still be overheating due to potential issues with the thermostat or water pump. Communication with Mr. Paul Butt was a challenge, with multiple unfulfilled requests for a quotation and excuses regarding email addresses.I eventually paid £1435 for sensor replacement, ECU repair, and mechanic labor but encountered issues after taking the vehicle home. The turbo exhaust was disconnected, the air filter was disconnected, the battery had been replaced with an older one, and there were loose wires near the cam belt. This all happened over an 7 week period.I firmly requested proof of the ECU repair but did not receive it, leading to my dissatisfaction. To summarize, my experience with Central Motors fell short of professionalism, and I would advise considering alternative garages in Bridport

Did a great job fixing the car, but the part was £19.99 and labour was £500+Feel a little ripped off.

I was stranded with a broken transporter t5 and trailer .Paul and his team pulled out all the stops: answered the phone on a saturday, took in van and stored trailer. Diagnosed the problem, got the part in, and got van back on the road inside 24 hours. Daughter's car developed exhaust issue during the same weekend whilst stranded, and he sorted it out with no fuss whatsoever.Very impressed. nothing was too much of a problem.Cheerful, efficient and reasonable price.Thankyou for saving our family summer holiday and being so nice in the process.

EDIT: This is a review from 2018, as the original seems to have disappeared. Terrible experience here. Got my motorcycle MOT (which they assured me they could do, even though they don't normally do it) spoke to the boss, got a verbal quote for all the work needed. Came back a week later, 3x the price and they stratched the bike. They said I needed to organise getting the scratches fixed!

Sent the car in for an engine issue. Over 4months later I was charged £4500 for a fix on my vehicle. It broke down a wekek later for the very reason i sent it in for. I took the vehicle to a specialist who unfortunately told me that the vehicle was a written off due to the disgusting work by Central Motors. Currently seeking legal action.

Edit: 21.05.23 - after recent service, oil pressure light intermittently came on immediately post service. After a couple of short trips out it was identified that oil levels were approx 3 litres short of where they needed to be. No oil leak or issues identified. Simply that not enough oil was replaced during service.Van went in for mot two weeks ago. Told Bring in for 830, at 4pm mot still not done. Failed. Booked back in for work following week. Told bring in for 830, Van sat with garage all day until finding out they couldn?t get parts for fix. You do this in advance surely and why ask me to bring in for 830!? Picked up van. Booked back in following week to get work done and retest. I asked different people twice for estimate of cost. Decided to also have service done. Told again to bring in for 830, Informed late in day that only service was done and mot work and retest not done. Kept van for another day. Eventually repairs, mot and service all complete. So in total they had my van for nearly 4 days for a mot, service, few repairs and re mot. This is already the worst most confusing service I?ve ever received from a garage. Hit with final bill of £996 (including service) none of which had ever been communicated regardless of work needed.Lesson for me, push for a rough cost, however hard that can be in the environments. don?t assume that because a cost hasn?t been communicated it can?t be this high. Like who hands over a bill for £996 without even giving an inkling as to what it might be?!All my previous garages contacted me to agree and communicate the work to be done and the associated costs. Thankfully I have a credit card!I?ve been left a bit bewildered as to what has been done, the whole process, lack of communication and transparency and the associated labour costs for the job, well over £600 plus vat on their own.I only went here because they were an AA approved garage.
