So lloyds winton has merged with Halifax. Branch is a complete shambles! The bank has completely forgotten what their customers need or want. Sat talking to a member of staff about a foreign currency transaction at the same table as an elderly couple talk about cashing in their bond! No privacy no confidentiality. Absolutely appalling service!

Just awful since combining with Halifax.
Imagine if banks did budget banks like Ryanair does budget airline, that's what this branch is now. Running with this metaphor imagine British airways made a deal with Ryanair and then all the British airline planes suddenly turned into Ryanair planes ? ?
You walk in and there is a little portable table with a staff member sitting at it in the middle of the bank. She will take your name and the reason you are at the bank. It's about as professional as children playing banker banker in shed ?
Then you sit on chairs on the opposite side of the bank to the tellers and when it is time for you to see the teller the poor woman has to scream your name through bulletproof glass from the other side of the room. If people are talking or there is ambient noise you can't hear them yelling your name.
This is a problem because you'll be sitting there waiting for ages and there is this worry that you won't hear them and they'll go to the next person on the list.
Speaking of waiting for ages, on my last visit I had to walk up to the little table but the lady wasn't there, she was trying to help someone use the self-banking machine. This means although the teller was not serving anyone she couldn't serve me so I had to wait for someone to return to the table to give me the referral to the teller.
It is embarrassingly unprofessional and stinks of incompetence. I've never thought it possible to be embarrassed on behalf of a bank branch but here we are ?
If you are considering opening up an account go down the road to the Nationwide. It's got everything a typical bank should have (like access to tellers on demand and a service desk for other banking services). The stark contrast between these two banks (on the same street) is shocking.
It's 2025 in the UK and the clever banking technology they use now is a table and chairs and shouting at each other ??

appointment review.
This is the first time I've gone to this Bournemouth Winton agency. The room is rather narrow, the atmosphere is cold, the customers scattered on chairs in various places. after being notified of my presence (Nikky) invited me to an office like a scratch on the paint of his car. its first sentence the agency no longer grants face to face meetings. I am called to this agency with greater responsibility.
She made it very clear to me that I had annoyed her.
Next time do this online, she told me, or by telephone.
but I'm not good with new online technology, on the phone the advisor often speaks quickly with a very strong accent that I don't understand. The positive point is that I had prepared a list of questions to ask him. In a few minutes I had solved all my problems.

Really unhelpful. A direct debit was charged in an incorrect way on my account, asked them to step over but instead they asked me to use the App and do it online. I've been waiting for an agent for over 2 hours without success. I cannot wait the whole day. The idea of going to the branch was to sort it out, not to delay it any further. I've read from different comments about the staff shortage? Maybe that's a good point to look at. Update 5 PM : Waiting time is now 4 hours and got a message every 5 minutes saying "Sorry about the delay in responding to you, we are working to get our service back to normal as soon as possible. If you still need help please respond yes to this message, if not please respond no. Thank you."

ABSOLUTELY APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE at this branch! If I could give 0 stars I would! My wife and I requested 6 month's worth of bank statements from personal and business accounts that had been closed earlier in the year. The lady we spoke to clearly had no interest whatsoever to help us and managed to conjure up the most ludicrous excuses as to way it was 'impossible' for them to print off our statements. From saying it couldn't be done, then saying 'issues with a different system' to us having to call their customer services, and also telling us they would charge us to print off statements for accounts we no longer had access to online!I have worked in financial services for many years and I would never have dared speak to customers like this. The kicker is that we then visited the Bournemouth branch straight after our terrible experience at Winton and they were very happy to help and were able to provide us with all the statements we needed, no issues at all, free of charge no less. I cannot praise the Bournemouth Branch Manager and his team highly enough!AVOID WINTON AT ALL COSTS! The staff we dealt with need extensive customer service training and a lot more humility!
