Me and my husband visited last night 21.02.25 with our little doggy and we were super impressed with the food it was absolutely delicious! My husband had the scotch egg followed by the steak and I had the Camembert followed by the lamb rump all meals were full of flavour, compliments to your chef as the food was above 5 stars.
We also loved the country atmosphere with the doggy?s being allowed and even offering our little doggy a doggy bed. Overall really lovely food with great service, best meal we had out on our week away in Devon. Thank you!! Adam and Becky Wyles xx

A cosy country pub serving superb food and local beer. Not cheap, but the quality of the food was incredible. They have a good range of local fish and meats, all cooked to perfection. The staff and owners are attentive and friendly, and the locals gave us tourists a warm welcome. It's worth mentioning that reserving a table is advisable. Would highly recommend!

Food & drinks: I walk here from Ilminster just for the Scotch egg and chips. Very tasty accompanied by a real ale. Friendly service. I definitely will be back.

I came to The Kings Arms Inn with my parents for a dinner (reserving a table is recommended) and we definately do not regret it. We have ordered a steak, a chicken pie, and a hake fillet, and they were all delicious! On top of that there was a great small town pub atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. If you are staying nearby I would definately pay them a visit!

Top spot for lunch. Has changed owners since the last time I visited. Clean, modern interior and dining room. Friendly service. Scotch eggs are house made and recommended.

Superb Sunday lunch. Rare breed beef served rare. Tasty. My wife's chicken pie was home made and stuffed with chicken. Triple chocolate brownie with clotted cream. Yum. Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Tasted home made. Good portion size. Well kept Butcombe bitter and local cider. Happy the kings arms has come back!

Staying the night in Yarcombe on a bike tour and decided to head to this nearby pub hoping for a traditional homely meal ? steak and kidney pie with apple crumble for pudding was specifically in mind. As luck would have it, Wednesdays are Thai-only night so settled for spring rolls, a beef main course with rice and a chicken main course (no pudding available sadly)?. Quirky cuisine but tasty and filling. Fantastic customer service from a cheerful manager and lovely waitresses. Really appreciated the two log fires coming in from the cold and great to hobnob with friendly East Devon locals gathered round it. In short, a splendid evening.

One of the warmest & most friendly pubs, I have ever visited. I stayed in this lovely village via Airbnb for two nights & from the moment we entered the Kings Arms, we were greeted with huge smiles & friendly greetings from staff & locals alike. So much so, that we're were very kindly invited on a locals organised walk event the next day (which was great) and everyone were so friendly & welcoming. This is a proper community pub & you get that from everyone in there and nothing is too much trouble for them & food & service are also excellent too. Thank you to everyone in the King's Arms & I will definitely be back.Nearby activities: Lovely nearby walks & sceneryFood & drinks: Fantastic service & excellent food and everything is with a smile.

Enjoyed a fantastic 1 night stay here with an evening meal. The welcome, service and room were just what we needed. Landlord Ben is a true gent and a fun guy, chatted to locals who were in for their Friday night drink and all were lovely and welcoming. The pub is an atmospheric 16c gem.Loved it, loved the food especially the superb cooked breakfast, live the local Otter lager and loved the welcome and service. Thanks to all!!!!

Very friendly landlord and staff! Food was average typical pub grub, both for evening meal and breakfast (had to be pre ordered the night before) Real ale was chilled rather than just being at cellar temperature, however once warmed up a bit it was fresh and clear so obviously properly stored and tapped The room was the let down - uncomfortable mattress with ill fitting linen (albeit clean). Room 3 was very tired and in need of some attention to detail and maintenance. Damaged bedroom window with visible gaps to outside, bathroom surfaces chipped and with peeling paint. 1990?s bath with shower over had dirty shower head and a small trickle of water (pressure in sink seemed okay so suspect shower head partially blocked). Toilet did not flush properly Carpets on stairs to the three rooms, and landing outside rooms, was dirty - however in the room it was fine Lovely and quiet overnight in the room though, so a bonus if I had been able to sleep well! All of this easily rectified - once it has been, would perhaps consider staying again, but certainly not again until it is Not asked for any feedback or even ?how was your stay / did you sleep okay? etc, so did not offer this feedback

We booked for Sunday lunch in mid September 2023. A nice welcome and we were shown to our table. The small restaurant area (probably 8 tables of 2 - 6 people) is basic but comfortable. We were looking for a Sunday roast so didn't ask about other choices. We were offered beef, pork or chicken with all the trimmings. We declined a starter because we don't have big appetites. The food was delicious - a nice change to have roast belly of pork instead of slices of regular pork meat. They vegetables - all cooked just to our tasts - included roast potatoes, roast parsnips, cabbage, carrots and cauliflower & broccoli cheese. The portions were generous. The roast meals cost £17 per person - quite pricey from our recent experience elsewhere. With a pint of beer and one glass on wine the bill came to £48.50.

Went for Sunday lunch and very pleased with quality of roast pork served with plenty of veg and yorkshire pud the size of a football almost. Very friendly and helpful staff and to top it all off some lovely local beer. What more do you want of a village pub!! Great
