Food seriously good
However be aware the portions are MASSIVE! So buy smaller than you normally would otherwise you pay for way more than needed.
I was shocked to pay £57 for two large cod and chips and two small cod and chips but quite frankly the adults could easily have had the small and the kids who normally need adult meals could easily have had kids meals and been perfect satisfied!

Very easy to order on line.Great to get a 15 min pick up period.Not the cheapest fish and chips I?ll ever buy but the food was cooked to perfection and not too greasy.

Shocking! Chips were cold curry sauce watered down and cod tasteless??And extortionate price! Couldn?t even provide a bag or box to carry home! My second time trying this shop?will never try again. Mortehoe worth the walk!

Sorry to leave a 1 star review as the Fish was fine and service good as well but the Chips were so unspeakably revolting that I'm afraid they override any positives. The chips should be -minus 5 if a true rating could be given. They were clearly leftover from the lunchtime shift ( although they looked and tasted like they were leftover from the first Lockdown). I don't understand why a business that makes its money primarily from chips can get it so wrong. Why insult customers and con them out of their hard earned money, and risk the reputational damage when profit margins would still be decent on freshly cooked chips. We appreciate costs have gone up for businesses as well in the past few years so put your prices up to reflect this but don't serve us up filth even if we are tourists who you think might not return again. (bad idea as we go most years to Woolacombe). Fish and chips are an expensive treat these days for most squeezed families and the disappointment on my Children's faces as they took the first bite will stay with me. The only reason we took a chance on the Fryer was because the Fish and chip shop up in Morthoe was closed for the year. However next time we are in Woolacombe and needs chips we will get some oven chips from the supermarket (if Morthoe is closed) Avoid the Fryer unless you like repulsive chips..............................FOLLOWING ON FROM RESPONSE TO FEEDBACK. Thank you for your response however i would imagine that the quality of your chips are going to have a bigger impact on your business than my comments. Have a look at some of the other recent reviews (i appreciate there have also been good reviews hence your overall rating) and you will see that other customers have given similar feedback with one saying they were the worst chips they've ever had. They also said the fish was good, as did our review. This vindicates my review 100% . If you listen to this feedback and bring your chips up to the standard of your fish (instead of squabbling with customers online and accusing them of slander) then the bad reviews will fade of your timeline and your reputation will be restored. However google reviews exists for exactly this reason so people can share their experiences and give honest reviews. Good chips are becoming very hard to get these days and you are not the only place where weve had a bad experience ,and its hard to understand why this is the case?

Very suspicious of this place since the Food Hygiene rating wasn?t displayed.The fish was ok.Chips were poor quality and cold.Served by abbot who looked 12 and asked 3 times if I wanted salt. He dropped a Fisk nuggets so there weren?t enough and had to give me a sausage. And he forgot half the order. Not recommended.

We wanted chips and a curry sauce. TERRIBLE. The chips were made of bits and pieces with a lot of eyes, They must have been out of the fryer some time as the were just warm YUK. The curry sauce was in a tiny pot and was just a watery substance that barely stuck to the chips The single portion was £5.50 the most expensive ever bought never again. So glad we never had the fish.

Unfortunately these were the worst chips and peas I have ever tasted?However the small cod tasted nice. I had to queue as the place was getting ready to open, when it opened there were no chips ready, mine tasted like this afternoon?s leftovers warmed up. The peas had an undesirable taste. Cleanliness of behind the counter looked below average to say it had just opened and rave music was blasting out. Hence the score ? the young lad who served was pleasant enough.

We were staying about 50m from this takeaway and had fish and chips one evening. Not the best I have ever had but certainly not the worst. Good fish and batter and a sensible amount of chips. The method of ordering was a bit chaotic; you order at the till and there is a gaggle of people standing in the road outside waiting for the order number to be called. When it is busy it looks difficult to see where the ordering line from the people waiting for collection. I suspect you could be there for quite a while not knowing which line you are in

This is the best fish and chips my fiancé and I have ever had. The batter was perfectly crisp, not oily or soggy at all. Perfectly cooked fish. Kind and communicative staff.

Average! After waiting for the best part of an hour for 2 x cod & chips we were sadly disappointed! Chips were over cooked and very bland. Fish was okay however cooked in waaaaay too much batter! Portion size was pretty decent, but overall, it was not worth the wait or the £30+ spent for a chippy tea!

Young girl on the till is very abrupt and rude and makes you feel like an inconvenience, such a shame as the food is always lovely but we will avoid in future if the same young lady is serving.

Fish and chips are nice, but staff just rude, and by looking at the reviews, I?m not the only one :) Sadly, this chippy has no competition so they can get away with it

Awesome tasting fish and chips but a decent price tag as well. Large cod and chips and £13.50. Lovely batter and fish was superb. Kids meals also decent. Beware going at 5pm when it opens. Took 50mins from joint the queue at the corner of the road. Wait till 6!
