Great pub in small rural village. The locals were a friendly bunch, and the Landlord was great, even bought us a drink. What a gem well worth the visit. We didn't order food so have not reviewed it.

What a reception! Perhaps you have to born here to enter! The man behind the bar was rude. The one in front of the bar stared opened mouthed. Makes the pub in the Last Werewolf In London seem friendly. At least they warned the non locals to stay off the moor.

This is a fantastic devon pub full of charachter and charm. The fish and chips on a Friday ( Both eat in and Takeaway ) are to die for and the Sunday roast served from 4 - 8pm is amazing. The home made puddings are a delight, you will never ever leave hungry. The staff are fantastc and the prices are more than reasonable. Give the Ryal Oak a visit. You will not be dissapionted. Dogs are more than welcome to. The pub also has its own in house African grey parrot, so go along and have a chat.

We use the pubs back room for choir practice and love the atmosphere.Staff are very friendly and all in all this pub represents everything that is expected of a quintessential village Inn.I have not eaten here yet, but I am told it's good.Parking: Parking for about 20 cars, with a village car park a short walk away

It is a shame that all pubs etc have to charge so much for drinks and food but when it comes to quality occasionally you do not mind. This place does have free parking and is spacious but because of the government Bs on taxes etc you will notice it is not as packed out as it used to be many decades ago. There is a new landlord they do supply top quality meals and has kept this pub on form. I am sure if everybody had more money this place would be packed out everyday. People do come from miles around to this venue and every one seems happy and friendly. I hope the next general election brings in a government that can create that wealth for its citizenship so that these types of venues can survive as the Royal oak deserves a vibrant future
