This place is great. A traditional pub in a excellent location. Went on a terrific moorland walk from the door. Very hospitable, all the staff and the landlady were very welcoming. If there's fish on the menu....order it. I'm an ex-fishmonger and the fish was perfectly cooked. Two real ales straight from the barrel, both too drinkable. I will definitely stay again. Charming little beer garden with nice locals. They are lucky to have this place in their village. We stayed the night, comfortable and peaceful.

Very old pub in the middle of nowhere ,we travelled along very narrow country lanes to get there ,it was certainly different. The food was good value and all home cooked ,limited menu .

This is the best place you can possibly stay on your travels. It is a cosy 16th century house where you feel instantly welcomed as an old friend. Simone, the owner is the best cook and she has many fascinating stories and hilarious jokes to share over a pint or two. I hope I will be able to come again.

True Dartmoor at its best. A quirky pub. Exceptional food at affordable prices. Served quickly by helpful Simone & her staff. Came in from our walk, soaking wet & all 9 of us were looked after very well.
The pub is as unusual as you will ever find. Loved the books & the trip to the toilet was an adventure in itself. Not the easiest place to find but worth the effort. Hope our walks bring us back soon.

We had a great stay! If you want to recharge your batteries and discover the real England with the landscapes of Dartmoor, go for it without hesitation. The room is rustic but great, we eat well, too much kindness! We will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you Simone for your welcome (despite our zero level of English lol)!

Lovely unspoilt remote country pub. Gravity fed local real ales in excellent condition. Good selection of food. The 2 letting bedrooms with shared facilities are basic but perfectly adequate. Friendly host and locals. The price I've chosen includes dinner, bed and breakfast plus a good few beers, so you can see it's very good value too.

Popped in here today after a nice visit to Castle Drogo! What a special spot! Very well priced beer and cider and also open during the day! An experience not to be missed!

Utterly unique. Incredibly welcoming, great (and we mean great) beer, lovely food and so easy going. Sit inside and soak-up the history & atmosphere, sit outside and enjoy the surroundings. We don?t think that there is a pub anywhere near this good left in the UK. What more can we say.
