Just bought a beautiful Yamaha gloss black piano. I just wish I could play as well as they did ... but it's certainly a great instrument, and looks wonderful in our study as well. Great service, as it was better than Amazon (lol) in that they were able to deliver the same morning ... does that get any better?

Fabulous results with both the thorough refurbishment of my 1920 Steinway drawing room grand piano, and the French polishing of the sectionalised top of my 1932 half-size billiard table. Personal service, very fair prices, and including free collection and delivery (from remote North Devon). Cannot recommend the team highly enough. December 2023.

You wouldn't believe that this gem of a piano workshop is where it is. They have a huge selection of excellent pianos - from Steinways, Yamahas Blüthners ready for a concert hall, all the way to little Bostons or Zenders ready for a studio flat.The team are extremely helpful and really know their stuff when it comes to repairs, regulation, and tuning - I don't think I've ever seen such perfect aftermarket wood treatment or re-felting on a piano. Their prices to quality ratio puts most showrooms and workshops to shame.I would recommend travelling to visit William Young...

Best in the West. Top service and excellent piano technician/tuner. Very friendly and approachable staff. Not the cheapest but, as with everything, you get what you pay for. Wouldn't use anyone else.

William Young Pianos restored my late father's Bechstein grand piano this last summer and autumn. I cannot express how wonderfully they did this! My brother John and I were moved to tears by the quality of their work!We gave them a piano that has been sitting unloved in a damp sitting room by a river for 20 years, it was in a terrible state! William and his business partner Henry have brought it back to a brand new state, and it sounds amazing, even though it still needs adjustment tuning.This outfit is seriously talented, both in their craft of bringing old pianos back to life and as musicians! I can highly recommend their work and their dedication. Very, very good value for money. If you have an old piano that needs love and attention, look no further, these are your guys! They are supported by Sarah, whose friendly and knowledgeable efficiency makes you confident that your piano is in the best of hands!And everyone in the Worksop is supported by the love and cuddles of Pixie, without whom the restoration empire would surely crumble!! I will also post some before pictures too a bit later!

The team at William Young restored my mother's 100 year old and very damaged Bechstein piano, a process that's taken place over a few months. The piano came home this week and looks, sounds and is beautiful having been restored with sensitivity to its age. Inside, it looks incredible - a work of engineering. The tonality is brilliant and you can feel the piano's history, resonance and depth of sound, like it's telling a story from long ago.Thank you so much to the whole team at William Young who have been friendly, clear in communication, reassuring and have demonstrated craftsmanship and a love of pianos which is rarely seen nowadays. I'm so glad I listened to your advice, and took the decision to restore it, as it is incredibly moving seeing it now here at home, so transformed and yet with its character and essence shining out.Thank you so much to you all - I feel quite overwhelmed in a very happy and magical way!

Absolutely top notch service from W.Y Pianos.William is a brilliant guy who made us very comfortable when viewing the pianos, giving us lots of useful info. Pixie was a very sweet little supervisor/dog (though she did keeping steeling the stool at the piano I was viewing).Delivery was arranged for a date sooner than we thought, so that was great, and was made without issue.Just had Tom round to tune the piano now it has settled for a few weeks and again I can't fault the service. Great people, and a fantastic service.Thank you very much to all of you :D

I am so pleased I opted for WYPR. They are passionate and care about what they do, they are super nice and make an effort to offer a very professional overall service.For example, the customer service always responded in a very friendly manner with a good selection of pianos.Once the piano was delivered, they made sure it was tuned and that everything worked well, they dedicated some time to adjust anything that needed to be addressed. They also made sure to use blankets on the carpets and also removed their shoes on the carpets.The piano sounds beautifully, full of vibrant "colours" in the notes and has just the right response.What more can one ask :)Thank you xFrancesca

In the middle of a frantic house sale in difficult circumstances, William Young Pianos were a delight to deal with - friendly, helpful admin and astonishingly expert piano removal (steep steps and an awkward porch, without so much as a tinkle of protest from the instrument!). The piano is now enjoying a 6-month holiday with them, and we have an open invitation to visit it - thank you WYP!

Bill is a very knowledgeable person if you want a piano to be restored. He will collect, restore, retune & deliver back quickly. You can also rent a piano for an event, & he'll even play for you.
