I shopped in this shop yesterday and was not impressed by being asked when I got to the check out whether I would round my £17.50 up to £18! Everyone in the queue was asked the same question ~ it puts you in a very difficult position ~ nobody wants to say No to giving to such a good and worthy charity. My concern is that often people that shop in charity shops are there because they can?t afford to shop elsewhere ~ I know this doesn?t apply to everyone. I just felt that this was at the very least inappropriate ~ I agreed to the amount being rounded up, quiet happily, as I didn?t want to seem like a misery ~ it left a bad taste and I probably won?t shop there again!I think this tactic is very counter productive.Just an observation from someone who has been a charity fundraiser for over 40 years!
